Sonisphere, Europe’s newest travelling festival, have announced that the Big 4 in thrash, Metallica. Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, are playing 2 European dates next Summer. The dates are June 16th, Poland and June 18th Czech Republic. This will be the first time the Titans of Thrash will have ever played together since the inception of Thrash as a music genre. Lars Ulrich has been quoted as saying, “What a mindfuck. Bring it on!”

“It’s about time this happened,” added Slayer’s Kerry King “And about time the fans finally get what they want.”

The UK leg of Sonisphere will take place between July 30 and August 1 at Knebworth and will be headlined by Iron Maiden and Rammstein.

However,while the organisers of Sonisphere deny that the Big 4 will be appearingas part of the UK bill, they still haven’t confirmed exactly who will be headlining the opening night of the festival….
