New Jersey progressive death metallers THE BINARY CODE have announced they will be releasing the 3-song Priest EP in May. The EP will be available exclusively at the band’s May shows, a string of dates they’re doing with PA-based ska metallers THE GLOOMINOUS DOOM. The Priest EP will be available on CD for free with the purchase of a t-shirt, or for creative barter; make the band an offer and they might just accept. Look for it to be available for download online following these dates.
The EP is the first new music from THE BINARY CODE since Suspension of Disbelief full-length album released digitally via MetalSucks in December of 2009. Fresh off the road from a 30-date U.S. run with REVOCATION and HYPNO5E, THE BINARY CODE, were anxious to return to the studio to record some of the new songs they’d been working on.
The band has posted a trailer on YouTube featuring clips from the Priest EP.

Tracklisting:
1. Priest
2. Encircled
3. Ocean of Light
A clip of drummer Umar Fahim recording “Encircled” will be released soon.

Former SEPULTURA members Max (guitar, vocals) and Igor Cavalera (drums) will return to the studio in April 2010 to begin recording the follow-up to CAVALERA CONSPIRACY‘s 2008 debut album, “Inflikted”. A late 2010 release via Roadrunner Records is expected.
Igor Cavalera told AOL‘s Noisecreep late last year that CAVALERA CONSPIRACY hopes to release another album by this summer once he and his brother find time to work on some new material.
“Max is so busy with SOULFLY, and MIXHELL [Igor's electronic duo, also featuring his wife — Ed.] is taking up most of me and [my wife] Laima‘s time, so when we find some free time we do CAVALERA,” Igor said. “I think that’s why I really enjoy doing it. There’s no pressure of being in a band and sitting around waiting for gigs. When we get the offers we sit together and decide if we want to do them or not do them, so it’s really cool.
“We have some ideas of maybe doing a remix album of [CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's debut CD, 'Inflikted'] and have people like JUSTICE or SOULWAX — even some dub artists that my brother likes — remix the whole album,” he added. “But that’s just an idea. It’s nothing confirmed. But me and Max are talking about doing a new album in the future, but there’s no pressure. There’s nobody from the label or the agents trying to push us to do it as quick as possible.”
“Inflikted” has sold 42,000 copies in the United States since its March 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Johny Chow (a.k.a. John Mark Bechtel; FIREBALL MINISTRY, SOULS OF WE, ex-SYSTEMATIC, MY RUIN) was recruited by CAVALERA CONSPIRACY to play bass for the group as the replacement for Joe Duplantier of the French progressive death metallers GOJIRA. Duplantier, who laid down all the bass tracks on “Inflikted”, was busy in the studio working on the new GOJIRA CD and was unable to join CAVALERA CONSPIRACY on the road.

The fine folks behind much-loved metal blog MetalSucks are proud to announce that they will be working with up-and-coming New Jersey progressive death metallers THE BINARY CODE to release the band’s debut full-length, “Suspension of Disbelief.” Engineered by Paulie Cutri & THE BINARY CODE’s own Jesse Zuretti, the record will be a digital-only release and is due to drop December 15, 2009, and features a bang-up mixing job courtesy of Kevin Antreassian (Number Twelve Looks Like You, Knife the Glitter).
THE BINARY CODE have been tearing it up all across the Garden State since 2004, self-releasing a string of demos and playing countless shows with the likes of Decapitated, Necrophagist, the Red Chord, Converge, Pig Destroyer, Between the Buried and Me, Cannibal Corpse, and Despised Icon up and down the East Coast. Their punishing blend of death metal ferocity, jazzy experimentation, progressive exploration, multihued atmospheres, and hardcore aggression has already won them considerable acclaim as much as their jaw-dropping technical proficiency and dizzying musical skill have made heads spin. Name-checking Meshuggah and Gojira as often as they rep Opeth and Between the Buried and Me, and adding in their own unique interpretations and influences along the way, these Jersey boys are poised to become new leaders in the field of modern American death metal. This is tech-death with SOUL.
MetalSucks co-honcho Vince Neilstein commented, “We are extremely proud to have The Binary Code’s “Suspension of Disbelief” as the first-ever official MetalSucks digital musical release. It’s not that we’re looking to get into the record label field… we most certainly aren’t. It’s that The Binary Code are so fucking good that we felt we had to do anything necessary to bring this band to the public. The precision, soul, musical prowess and astonishing power of their live shows are what drew us to The Binary Code in the first place, so we’re psyched that “Suspension of Disbelief” captures all of that energy on record.”
THE BINARY CODE guitarist and graphic designer Jesse Zuretti added, “After nearly a year, we are extremely excited to announce that we’ll finally be releasing our first official album exclusively through our favorite, and most excellent metal news herald, Metal Sucks. New, as well as re-recorded songs, will be featured on the digital album, entitled, “Suspension of Disbelief”. We couldn’t be more grateful for the confidence invested in our music by the MS emperors.”
