| My Life Story: |
This is my Rock and Roll life story. I was born and raised on the Beatles (sorry for those of you that are cringing, but I love them!). I graduated from the Beatles to mid-70's guitar and Southern Rock including Skynyrd (above all), Bad Co (my favorites for a long time), and of course the mighty Zep. As I reached my teen years I began to explore original hardcore punk such as Dead Kennedy's, Television, and The Heartbreakers among others. As the Eighties rolled around, I seriously got into the metal scene as the newness of punk wore off. To me Metal was the perfect mix of early rock and punk. Never looked back after that. I have enjoyed metal through the years, always opting for hardcore as opposed to fluffy hair metal, or metal core, or rap core, or whatever the hell the others are called. Nowadays I pick and choose. The growling metal shit is not normally something I like. I guess I may be stuck in a time warp right now but I gotta have some sort of discernible melody to hear in the music. I try not to attach myself to any genre in particular. If I like it, I like it; if I don't, I don't. The Sword has recently caught my fancy. |
