About

My Life Story: Ok I thought I should edit this and make it proper, so, this is my life story and how music has influenced my life and how my taste has developed into the huge library I have today.

I was born in Oxfordshire, in 1986, the first born of a wealthy family.
I was raised on different types of music, my mother, was into what I guess we'd now class as classic metal and classic rock; AC/DC, Rainbow, Meat Loaf, Dire Straits, Status Quo, REO Speedwagon etc. Whereas my father, was into I guess we'd call it love; The Police, The Cars, Chicago, Genesis etc.
So I suppose that is where my love for classic rock, metal and love comes from.

Sometime during the 90's my dad discovered the wonders of Enya which enthralled me and started me on my new style, I started listening to alot of classical and opera while keeping in touch with my old style of course.
Somewhere in the early 21st century I fell inlove with a talented (and gorgeous) asian violinist by the name of Vanessa Mae, she has a huge place in my record collection.

I was schooled from the early age of 3, which was basically a pre-pre-school, then went to pre-school and finally started primary school, like everyone else, at the age of 5.
Throughout my years in primary school I went through some phrases and got into 90s pop/rock, especially Bryan Adams.

Now, what hasn't been mentioned yet is the fact my childhood was uh, far from happy.
My parents were very abusive towards me after my brother Jason was born, he is 1 year and 1 month older than me, so from a VERY early age I have relied heavily on my grandparents from my mothers side for support.

So, now we know I am in primary school, what type of music I like so far and that I have a weak relationship with my parents and a strong one with my grandparents.
I went through primary school like a breeze, it was so easy for me because I have always been able to remember things quickly, e.g. read a book and memorise it.
Around about my second or third year into primary school (around the age of 7) I developed a huge interest in cars, this came from my grandfather. This was a very significant part of my life because, I started to draw cars from magazines and then started to experiment with designs of my own and eventually move into still live. Thus, the artist in me was born.

Somewhere around this time I got into computer games, Atari, Mega Drive, Master System. These played a huge part in my future so I thought I would mention them early on.
I had my Mega Drive all the way up until the first version of Sony Playstation was released here in the UK.

I continued on through primary school, at the age of 9 I started playing lead and rythm guitar (and still do to this day) which again increased my passion for music of all sorts. I'd play rock and alot of classical guitar.

In '93 my second brother Matthew was born.

By the time I started secondary school at the age of 11 I was already heavily into my art work but, had a major music taste shift, I got into dance and trance music in the first year there and in the second, drum 'n' bass, but not the shit kinds (in my opinion).
It was at this time that Moby started to influence my life.

Sometime around now the Sony Playstation was released and became a must have.
My life became one whole game mixed with music and art, but, all was not well and feelings started to awaken inside of me, the older I get the more I resented my parents for their true hatred of me.

It was in and around the year 2000 when my third and final brother was born. Keiran.
He and I are tighter than knots, he is pretty much a miniature version of me but alot quicker than me in many ways.

In my 3rd year of secondary school, around the age of 14, my love for classic rock and metal came back strong, but this time with and dance and drum 'n' bass feel to it.
I started to dabble in thrash and speed metal with a strange "funk" to it that I really cannot discribe.
This was also the year when we had to choose our future subjects, these subjects would change our lives. So, of course, I chose art and design but also chose a technology class called "Design".

Now, it's worth saying that I had become a technology freak by now, I had been looking into html and web design from an early age and it was around about now that I started to actually code my own html sites, yes they were crap, but they made me what I am today.

I went through the rest of my secondary school years, all the way to the age of 16 as one of the outcasts.
"Grungers" and "greebos" were just some of the names invented for metal and even rock lovers such as myself. This, I guess, also played a part on my steady downfall and turned me into more of a depressive recluse than before.

I battled on through secondary school keeping only a close group of 3-4 friends around me, still played my music, did my art and kept developing my skills with the current technology.

In my final year at school, at the age of 16, I finally snapped. It was during February, the school half term.
My father and I had several big fights that ended in me being beaten to a pulp. Finally I literally snapped, hit him back and was kicked out of my home.
I moved in with my grandparents, who now played an even bigger role in my life.

My final exams where closing in, it was early March when I got all, my depression and stress levels had skyrocketed. Through years of constant computer games and sleepless nights I got glandular fever, which affected me for 6 months and ruined my exam results.

I was out of school for 5 months, I missed my study time due to the glandular fever and other various illnesses that affected me while I had it.
I spent my exam hours barely alive, living on redbull and chocolate.

I finally finished school and somehow managed to pull off some decent grades even though I was barely there during my final year. I passed art and ict (our computer course) with flying course, but totally failed my design course, that was what killed my love for design and "inventing".

During the months off I spent alot of time now working hard on computers, I got deeply involved in web design and programming and learnt alot in the months I had off.
My music taste also grew and I became fascinated with heavy metal and "emo" music. Music full of hatred and torment.

My whole lifestyle changed, but, I had one major rock to lean on, a girl I had known for a while, Tamsin.
She and I had been going out since the March of the year before. She played a huge part in my demise later in life.

So, there I was, a depressive reclusive fool that spent his days on a computer and his money and all his love on one girl.

In September of that year I started college, but, within a week disaster struck. One of my friends was killed in a motorcycle accident, this affected me greatly and I became very distraught. My girlfriend, Tamsin, took it totally differently. She saw it as me ignoring her and decided to tell me the truth about our relationship.
I found out a great many things including that she had never had one boyfriend at once, there was always more than one.
This, in my current mindset, destroyed me. I overdosed on Amitriptyline mid September, 2 weeks before my 17th birthday.
Not wanting to go into detail, but, I was out cold for 12-13 hours before I called myself and ambulance and spent 2 weeks in hospital and a month in a mental institution, where, gladly enough I was declared sane.

I totally changed after that inciddent, I dropped out of college after missing too much work and lost touch with all of my old friends. I also apologised to Tamsin, believing it was all my fault, and was foolish enough to get back with her for a short while. But, she didn't last, thankgod.

From this moment on, computers and music were all I had left in my life so I used them to my advantage.
For almost a year straight I studied programming, one language after another. I delved deeper into operating systems and hardware, deeper than I had before.
Everything I learnt for that year I use today.
I started practising different guitar styles and would play for hours on end everyday of the week.

During that year I used my wealth to create and launch 2 companies, both of the same name.
Katikai and Katikai Hosting, these lasted only a year but increased my knowledge in computing and also my credibility.

It was in the summer of the following year, '04, that I moved out of my grandparents, I got my own place and started college once more at a totally new place.

I made alot of new friends in the time before college and during college and also increased my ability with computers, creating an apartment that was virtually run by them. They controlled the music system, movie and tv system.

By this time I had been doing drugs for a while, hard and weak but nothing that you would class and a habit habit.

So, I started college studying Law, Paranormal Psychology, Business and ICT (computing). My ICT class was way too simple, and within a couple of classes started doing computer work that was 3-4 years above the rest of my class. Using my ability to learn things quickly I learnt alot from Law and, using my new found look at life the Psychology class enthralled me.

I spent maybe 6 months in college, living in my own place with never less than 10 people there at once, before I quit college.
I passed my courses a few month before I should have and just moved on.
It was around this time, well, during mid college that I started to play in metal bands and increase my love for speed metal.

That leads me to where I am today, I am now a professional programmer, own over 300,000 legal music tracks, own my own mini business and spend alot of my time with music.
As of today I play lead, rythm and bass guitar aswell as scream/growl in a variety of bands, as and when I feel like it.

*I am, fortunately, fully over the depressive stage and can be heard, kicking up a shit storm live on BGR by playing tracks that I have grown to love.

I hope to see you guys in the chat when I am on, requesting some decent music.
