I dunno if any of you have seen but the guitarist for a pretty homoposermetal band, Atreyu, has started their own line of throwback-to-80's-band clothing line.. and I just gotta write a fuckin rant about this... now, they say that the reason they do it is to bring cheap, easy to get 80's style band T-shirts.. but it's such a gimic it makes me sick... first off, it's not about buying a shirt for your favorite band that LOOKs like an orinigal, it's about going "dude, this is an original iron maiden shirt I bought at a concert"... the point of the shirts is to be authentic, not to be bastardized by a less than metal band attempting to buy their way into music history.. and I dunno about any of you guys, but I don't find it hard to find band t-shirts at all... why the fuck should we give Atreyu our cash when we really wanted to give our money to the band we bought the shirt for... not only that, but the guitarist is selling the kind of japanese headbands that he wears on stage, like any one really wants to be a copycat wannabe like this gallon of douche..

so what my opinion is, don't try and buy your listeners or win them over just by being fans yourself... play good music instead...
