I appreciate and enjoy all submissions, but.... I ask and suggest that those who post articles written by themselves, PLEASE do it in a program that includes SPELLCHECK before posting it here!? Check for proper grammar usage as well, please?? It only serves to make your contribution carry more integrity and professionalism. Thank you~

You should tell us what article needs help with the spelling and grammar!!
Also, Braingell DJ's have the ability to edit articles. If you see a glaring spelling error you can click the pencil icon near the title and edit the article!!

Aye... and another tip for anyone posting shiz up on the site as well... (I had to learn too guys... the hard way!) If you're posting up an article, make sure you post it in notepad, or something that'll remove html codes and shit from the text your posting. Pretty annoying when everything that you write is bolded and underlined and there's NOTHING you can do to correct it. *coughs* not that anyone here *cough* ever did anything of the sort *cough*. I'm going to keep my eyes out for spelling errors as well.

THX Mel, Hey all you DJ's have author and editor rights. So take a look at what people put in if their articles and if there is a glaring spelling error, just fix it. Let's get some more info from you Mel, you have been formatting your articles well lately. Have a go at telling them how you compose your articles and why! I moved this to a new forum for writers. It's a public forum so our new writers can read up and learn about how and why we've done things. I expect the site to have more room for information soon and we will have to increase the writing staff. So invite your writing friends to come and participate. WRITE ON vB

If you are reading this, you probly got past the front page, and noticed the new way front page news is displayed!
Never fear! Just continue to create your articles the way you always have! When someone clicks on the Read More, they will continue to see your whole article as you intended it.
If you have any suggestions, please respond.

WRITE ON vBAlrighty then. I can do that. First of all, I basically just surf the web and do searches on google for anything really that has to do with the metal music industry. It's pretty diverse in the things that you wnd up finding so that you can focus on more than one topic if you so desire. I also check out The PRP (www.theprp.com) or Blabbermouth (www.blabbermouth.net) Both of those sites are VERY helpful, and pretty interesting for reading up on the articles. Another one of my biggest tools right now is also Myspace actually. I have a crapload of bands on myspace that I read up on and contact and do write-ups on. It's pretty amazing some of the stuff you can find on there. Why do I write articles? Well actually, it's a way for me to find out information about bands and whatnot and pass it on without having to ramble on about nothing in the chat room, where people likely wont understand what the hell I'm talking about. It's a ton of fun to write articles as well, you can add your own humor into the articles as well, (even if it is as lame as mine) which I do in the opening paragraphs in my articles. I dont know if this was exactly what you were looking for vB, but if you have anyone that's asking questions about it or anything, anyone can feel free to PM me on the site or contact me in the chat room sometime.

ok, about "writing" articles... i would have to say that if you are to truly write an article, it would be derived from research and writing that is done by the writer and would be considered "exclusive". i guess what i am wondering is, if we hear or read something somewhere else, do we write/copy it from the other place and submit it? do we rewrite it in our own style? or do we only write things from scratch?
for instance... the article that was put up a few days ago about DLR and VH getting back together was something i read on another site and also heard a blurb about it on the news... (btw ivan, i am not implying you did something wrong or even singling you out with that article. i chose it cause its the newest of a hundred examples for what i am asking about...) i am guessing we didnt learn it from the source, being DLR or VH... so we are re-reporting news...
i guess im trying to figure out what we can put up as news? like if i see something on blabbermouth or yahoo can i repost it here? am i making sense? i mean i see toooons of stuff that we could post as news, but we didn't "write" any of it...
if anyone knows a good way to answer this, please feel free.

Best thing to do with articles from another site is to do an OFFSITE NEWS link.
Click Contribute - Add Offsite News.
Check it out!!!
Please write ORIGINAL material for the main news section on Braingell.com

I agree... if you see a good article, and would like people at BGR to enjoy it too... then use the ADD OFF SITE NEWS option in the Contibute Menu.
Cutting and pasting anything another person has done is considered stealing of copyrighted work. If you didn't know that, you know it now. Last week, I read an article where a California judge backed this in court.
If you've read a good article, and would like to put your own spin on it, then please feel free to write your article. Even if it closely resembles the other article, but is entirely your own creation. A good thing to do here, is surf the web looking for others who have written about the same subject, and take all of their views into writting your own. This way your article will seem better than all the rest.
Again, not pointing any fingures at anyone, cuase if I was, I'd have to start with myself... yeah, I've done it, but I try not to... and now if I feel the need to cut and paste, I do it in the Off Site News section.
