New Releases Show on 28th 1 Year, 4 Months ago
Every week lostannie and I host a show on Friday night at midnight/Saturday morning, however you wanna look at it. We always try to play 10 bands with recent or soon to be released CDs. I've made some great connections with people in the music business over the years, and often get singles and promo discs handed to or sent to me, and we decided to put them to use, creating this still unnamed show here at Braingell.

This week you'll definately want to tune in, we are gonna do songs from the following groups: Chart toppers "Pain Confessor", new commers "Maze Of Torment" and "Crystal Viper", and new releases from old timmers "Rush" and "Ozzy Osbourne". Plus 5 other great bands you wont want to miss!

Once the show is done, I'll post up a reply with the list of the song order, and some comments about the bands.

We hope you'll join us... and if you've got some time, try and help us come up with a name for the show.

Krypteria - Directly from the start with opening song 'All Systems Go' it is clear that this album, 'Bloodangel's Cry' has a lot to offer. Krypteria start out with a rock solid composition and keeps speeding up the pace to unknown limits for the gothic metal genre. Released: Apr 3

Nox - Ixaxaar literally means "Gateway to Hell", and is the title of Nox's first album. The title leaves little room for wonderment on the band's stance. That's right children, Nox is another satan-worshipping, nun raping machine of complete annihilation. This is a fairly impressive album when you take into consideration it is the band's debut, and they have debuted on probably the biggest death metal label in the world at this point, Earache. Released: Mar 5

Crusader - Skin Clad is the third effort from Belgian heavy metallers Crusader. Their new CD reminds me of the 80's band Warlord with a touch of Manowar, and definatly has an 80's sound. Released: Mar 31

Maze Of Torment - The CD “Hidden Cruelty” takes the listener to a journey through the topics from Slayer, Testament and a glimpse from early Morbid Angel, in other words a masterpiece! “Hidden Cruelty” is all you expected from Maze of Torment and much, much more. All one has to do is listen to the opening track “Breach The Wall” and you will be blown away instantly. This album is the breakthrough album for the Swedish monsters Maze of Torment. Released: Apr 27

Rush - Rush return with its first new collection of original material in nearly five years, entitled "SNAKES & ARROWS." Geddy Lee says, "It's hard to describe, SNAKES & ARROWS, It's big, it's bold, and I think it's some of the best work we've done in years. I'm really pleased with the quality ofthe songs, and there's lots of playing on it." Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart who make up the powerful threesome that is Rush, will trumpet the release of "SNAKES & ARROWS" with a full-scale North American tour called, "An Evening with Rush: 30th Anniversary Tour." Released: May 1

Naildown - The band has really taken strides toward developing their sound to a more unique and diverse direction. Band states: "We're extremely satisfied with the result, it turned out be a great decision to let Jacob Hansen do the mixdown of the album this time. And when it comes to new songs and the overall sound, we would say that band has developed almost into a completely new form! Just wait and hear it for yourself!". The album is called Dreamcrusher. Released: Apr 2

Crystal Viper - Female fronted Heavy Metal with vocalist reminding of German Band ZED YAGO. The songs and vocalist are outstanding and this is what we had expected from the last albums with female artists but never got. This CD is highly recommended if you like powerful female voices combined with straight forward thundering Heavy Metal! Released: Feb 25 ~ Note: The band Crystal Viper recently appeared on the CD, A Tribute To W.A.S.P

Lord Belial - "Cold", "melodic" and "raw" are the keywords when it comes to the Swedish black metal act Lord Belial. With a history dating back to 1992 the band has continued to improve with each new release, and Revelation, their 6th studio album, surely marks a new high point in the ongoing Lord Belial legacy. Released: May 1

Pain Confessor - PAIN CONFESSOR's third album, "Purgatory of the Second Sun", has entered the Finnish chart at position No. 15. The band comments: "Amazing! We are utterly astonished by the way people have embraced our beloved third jewel, 'Purgatory of the Second Sun'. We humbly thank each and every one of you who have invested in our perception of today's world and the darkest side of humanity. This is a big step for us, it has been a rough ride and it feels somewhat... odd yet rewarding to see people support us." Released: Apr 1

Ozzy Osbourne - Unless you've been under a rock lately, you know that Ozzy has a new CD coming out soon. Ozzy explains, "It's a well-put together album. I think it's evident that it hasn't been just slapped out and put down. I took my time on the album and Zakk [Wylde] plays some amazing stuff as always." OZZY feels BLACK RAIN is the true follow-up to his classic No More Tears, the 1991 album that also challenged the expectations of what an OZZY OSBOURNE album should sound like. Released: May 22
