Oops! My bad! That date should be the 9th in the subject. Crap!
Well, lostannie and I put on another great show... and we would like to thank all those that were in the chat room! You really make are show worth showing up for!
Okay, normally we play 10 song, but this week we only did 9. Hope you enjoy reading, and there are even some links to videos this time.

Band: TNT
Album: The New Territory
Released: May 7
Song Played: Something Special
Info: Ever since the "Firefly" CD, TNT has has a new sound on every CD, and this one is no exception. While most of the songs show great promise, there are few that actually have that something special.

Band: Kaipa
Album: Angling Feelings
Released: June 5
Song Played: Pulsation
Info: Latest from the resurrected Swedish symphonic band continues to sound perilously close to The Flower Kings but with Patrick Lundstrom (Ritual) and Aleena Gibson sharing vocals. A surprising new member is guitarist Per Nilsson from Swedish death/trash metal band Scar Symmetry. He seems quite comfortable hanging with the decidedly softer nature of this music. The great Morgan Agren plays drums and FK/Karmakanic bassist Jonas Reingold is here as well. Keyboardist/leader Hans Lundin holds the whole thing together with as much vintage sounds as you could possibly want.

Band: Scarve
Album: The Undercurrent
Released: June 12
Song Played: Endangered
Info: French band Scarve releases "The Undercurrent" CD which will take many listeners in a new direction, because there are so many diverse things going on in the layers, that it might take a while before the grey mass can reconstruct all of these layers into one comprehensible thing. The slow opening track 'Endangered' has got to be one of the best cuts on the CD, and is a good opening for the rest of what the CD has to offer. A nice detail is that the larger part of the vocals are done by Lawrence Mackrory (ex-Darkane).

Band: Abigor
Album: Fractal Possession
Released: June 5
Song Played: Project: Shadow
Info: Rhythmically, this album goes further than any of their previous work. The more you listen to it, the less it sounds disorienting or death metalish. There are many riffs they never repeat much, so that the music is constantly changing. Listening to this band is still a cognitive delight: your brain needs to listen to this cD many times before getting used to it.
Note: This album is being re-released on July 17th, because the original release was an instant sellout.

Band: Blasdead
Album: Ground Flare
Released: April 26
Song Played: Empty House
Info: Japanese metal is taking shape in the form of Tokyo's Blasdead. Blasdead's approach to their art is lyrically more socially aware. In vocalist Eiji Yokoyama and guitarist Shoji Yasuno, they have a potent strike force that is capable of face melting riffs and guttural screams. 'Ground Flare' is a strikingly good debut that can hold it's own with the best that the international metal community has to offer.

Band: King Diamond
Album: Give Me Your Soul Please
Released: June 26
Song Played: Never Ending Hill
Info: Another elaborate story from the King, surrounding an eerie house, where a child was murdered (and now wanders for eternity in blood-splattered dress, looking for souls to reap. Hence the title). Takes a while for the plot to get going, but is another true-to-form CD from King Diamond.

Band: Dragonslayer
Album: Cronos
Released: June 5
Song Played: Sleeping In My Car
Info: Okay, not the greatest most talented band ever, but also not the worst. The band Dragonslayer from Spain simply put out a fun album to listen to.

Band: All Ends
Album: Wasting Life
Released: May 11
Song Played: Wasting Life
Info: Under the supervision of the two In Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad and Björn Gelotte, All Ends delivers some great Metal, which sounds a little like In Flames, sorta. the band fronts two female singers who divide the singing. I definately see a future for this band, but only time will tell.

Band: Marilyn Manson
Album: Eat Me, Drink Me
Released: June 5
Song Played: Putting Holes In Happiness
Info: Eat Me, Drink Me is the closest Manson will ever get to unplugged. It's still plenty dark, with Manson dishing about vampires and mutilation in a horror-ific croak that's rougher than ever. But, for Manson at least, it sounds pretty spare and oddly matter-of-fact without the huge, schlocky choruses and high-gloss production. Forget what you know about this guy and it'll come off like a decent, and rather efficient, little goth-pop record.
