Alright! The magic date that we finally did the show was Saturday morning at 1am on the 14th of July. After going on the air an hour late, and not having done the show in several weeks, lostannie and I where greeted by the chat room metalheads who where hungry to here their requests, and new songs from the following bands.

Band: Iron Savior
Album: Megatropolis
Released: June 30
Song Played: Running Riot
Info: Well, the first thing I noticed as I spun this disc...was that Iron Savior had not changed their sound at all. Did we expect them to? No. Do they really need to? Not particularly. Leave progression to other bands. Iron Savior are fine the way they are with their rather gruff and angry vocals and sleek, spacey, crunchy riffs. This is just solid heavy metal with balls for those who love to bang their heads and pump their fists.

Band: Hyades
Album: And the Worst Is Yet To Come
Released: June 21
Song Played: Buried In Blood
Info: They play thrash, eat thrash, hell… they probably even bleed thrash. Indeed, the Italian five-piece don’t just raise a glass in the direction of Testament, Exodus and Slayer, they smack them around abit and keep on going for more!

Band: Blinded By Faith
Album: Weapons of Mass Distraction
Released: July 10
Song Played: Weapons of Mass Distraction
Info: BLINDED BY FAITH are back with their new studio album, Weapons of Mass Distraction, which is without a doubt their strongest effort yet. They have crafted their most aggressive, yet catchiest work to date, including memorable melodies and with both growling and clean vocals mixed together in harmony by the band's excellent musicianship and songwriting.

Band: Manticora
Album: The Black Circus (Part 2 - Disclosure)
Released: June 26
Song Played: Beauty Will Fade
Info: Manticora is quite the interesting band. It is a power metal band, formed in Denmark in 1996, and while they haven't exactly gained the popularity of some of their power metal brethren they've still soldiered on, releasing six albums in eleven years. The Black Circus Parts 1 (Letters) and 2 (Disclosure) are concept albums revolving around a mysterious travelling in the 19th century. I won't dwell too much on the concept right now, but I will say that it provides a haunting edge to the album.

Band: Abandoned
Album: Thrash You!
Released: June 1
Song Played: Visions Of Death
Info: They may come from the Bay Area, but their sound is from Germany. If you liked their first release last year, then you're gonna love this release from Abandoned. The album Thrash You is the perfect follow up to Thrash Notes.

Band: Between The Frost
Album: Realms Of Desolation
Released: April 3
Song Played: Dominions Of Impaled Beheaded
Info: Fans of Between The Frost rejoice! After 15 years this band finally releases its second album! This is one of the better Black Metal CDs to come out this year so far.

Band: Paragon
Album: Forgotten Prophecies
Released: May 23
Song Played: Hammer Of The Gods
Info: After 2 years, and replacing their Bass Player, Paragon finally releases their CD Forgotten Prophecies. This is the bands 8th CD, and this new CD has got to be their best CD to date.

Band: Korpiklaani
Album: Tervaskanto
Released: June 26
Song Played: Lets Drink
Info: Korpiklaani is back! The wild Finns have again bottled the atmosphere and energy of their live show and injected it into their fourth album. Tervaskanto delivers powerful Folk Metal songs that are immediately absorbed into the bloodstream, instinctively causing neck muscles to headbang. Traditional instruments such as the accordion, fiddle, and flute battle it out with the purest of Metal, spiced with a dash of humppa and large helping of good humor.

Band: Linkin Park
Album: Minutes To Midnight
Released: May 15
Song Played: Bleed It Out
Info: Minutes to Midnight has plenty of quick to please tracks, along with melodic radio fare tunes. If you're a fan, you'll love the new album, if you hated them before, you'll hate 'em even more now.

Band: Vision Divine
Album: The 25th Hour
Released: June 30 (In some places it may be released on July 3)
Song Played: The 25th Hour
Info: Born in 1998 as a solo project of guitarist Olaf Thorsen (Labyrinth), and soon rejoined by singer Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, also former member of Labyrinth), Vision Divine released over the past decade four albums, including the latest masterpiece ‘The Perfect Machine’, which transformed them into one of Europe’s most celebrated metal bands. The sextet, still run by extraordinary Olaf Thorsen, along with talented vocalist Michele Luppi, is considered today one of the prominent names in the international prog-power movement. ‘The 25th Hour’ is the confirmed title for Vision Divine’s new album, the record is a concept based on the diary of the same man who had a lead role in ‘Stream Of Consciousness’ and is already described as the band’s best work to date, a phenomenal mix of powerful guitars, stunning melodies and uncommon technical abilities.
Ten great bands, each with great albums... if you didn't get to hear these bands, make sure you ask me to play them on my Monday show from 5pm to 8pm PST.
