In an attempt to keep the front page, and all news archive sections clean and consistent, there are a few simple guidlies that we ask you follow.

To begin with, if you are not familiar with how to submit news, then you should read Wasted Zombies FAQ which can be found at the following link:

Title: The title should be short and to the point. No long drawn out de_script_ions are needed, that is what the intro text (see below) is for.

Catagory: Choose the appropriate catagory, simple enough. If you are unsure, take your best guess, a nod will change it if needed.

Intro Text: This is the area that matters. To keep the front page and news sections tight and uniform, we would like this section to be layed out in the following manner;

- Type the article name. This may be the Title again, or maybe something a bit more de_script_ive. Try to make it only one line however. Format this line so that it is 'Heading 2'. This can be found in the 'Format' drop down menu. Do not change the size or font, leave both drop down boxes alone. Some people like to format this text after finishing the article, other format it while writing the article, do whatever you like.

- After the title, press enter, change the format to 'Normal', then fill out the opening paragraph, or whatever you want the introductive text to be. This should be no longer than 7 lines of text. If it is, make it shorter, or split the paragraph up.

- Once this is completed, you can finish filling in your article in the 'Main Text' area. You should continue to have the format be 'Normal', otherwise your article has different fonts, making it unsightly. If you have a reason to change fonts (for example when quoting something, making a paragraph heading, ect) then use your best judgement.

Not to be a pain in the ass, but I think this is more complicated than it needs to be.
In my opinion the contributors should just leave everything in the settings as it is, and only use different fonts and settings than the default when making quotes and things like that.

I can see that you now want to make headings more visible, but imo this should be done using the stylesheets by making the title of the article more visible. The title of the article should be the heading that stands out on the website, not like now where it's in a little box by itself. THEN comes a big heading sort of "inside" the article.

This way you admins on the page get full control over the looks of the site, and we contributors don't need to worry about that. All we need to do is fill out the title (wich will be the "headline"), choose the category, fill out the intro text (which will show on the front page and make people wanna read more) and the main text.

OK, that was my opinion, and nobody asked for it, but that's what forums are for, isn't it?

True, might be something for WZ and DD to think about. Then people could just leave the settings on normal, and we can simply ask them not to tweak the intro text unless needed.
