I just have to get the mic to sound clear.. You SAM users, what settings in the EQ should I be running?? Bypass all the extra stuff??

if the mic sounds choppy, be sure to go to your voice FX config. look at the lower left corner where you will see two sliders. i dont rem the title of the sliders, but set the one on the left to 6 and the one on the right to 20ms... hope that helps.

oh yeah... i think the sliders are for buffers and packets.

Adjusted those.. Also have it set in the EQ to bypass all the compressors and such..

Hi, I have been running som broadcaster for 3 yrs now. It IS COMPLETELY compatible with windows vista.( ive been using vista ultimate for about a yr now). I started with sam 3 now running sam 4. To me sam is simply the best. There were some issues with dual core but spacial has a download that fixes it. If you would like some assistance I would be happy to lend a hand.

SAM4 supposed to be for Vista/XP, but none of the DJs here at Braingell.com use it on Vista.. Personally I don't have a machine powerfull enough to run Vista.. Sticking with XP for now..

As I said in previous post sam 4 is ment to be used with Vista but if you read spacials forums your find people either have issues with their soundcards or mysql etc etc.

Point is shout is easy and does the job well, I did try sam and hated the over bloated and cpu hungry it also fill the desktop ( which isnt a issue now as I have a 28" samsung) but point is shoutcast is so nice simple play a damn song auto crossfade etc what more do you want.

If you want to spend shit loads on Sam and risk seeing if it works on vista with your soundcard fine but the graphice are ugly and dated and it has all this crap you dont need. like a php mysql playlist for people to request lol which always hangs as a file needs to dl from spacial website and takes ages to download.

Anyway its all just over the top spend you money on a nice mic so you dont sound like some of these bad stations going around with tinny nazel breathing restroom sounding voices
