Okay, so yesterday I'm walking down the road trying not to slip on the ice that is hidden by the snow... and I decide to take a path throw a field I normally don't, to cut some time off my journey. Over half way into the field I come across a CD jewel case laying on the snow. There are many other foot prints besides mine, so obviously someone has dropped this, but no one is around. I pick it up and flip it over it has 2 CDs in the case, but no paper booklet. The name on the CDs is "Mayhem Metal"... and what luck, the name of each song and artist is printed on the CDs. Seems to be some sort of compilation. Without the booklet, I can't seem to find any copyright date, nor recording studio, distribution company... nothing. I'm hoping by posting the info about the CDs, that someone out there knows more about these CDs, and can fill me in.

Most of the songs seem pretty okay... but not overly hard edged. Only a handful of the bands do I recognize.
Yes, I did rip the CDs, just incase any of you are interested in hearing some of the songs.
i see that XYZ is one of the bands on there... terry the singer and i have talked thru myspace before. nice dude... find his myspace and shoot him a message. hell you might be able to do that with almost any band on there.
Hmmm... for some reason writing to the bands themselves never ran across my brain. Thanks berube!
I recognized the more heard of bands like XYZ, Babylon A.D. and Quite Riot. Even have some CDs from the bands: Goodbye Thrill, Bombay Black, and Riot. So interesting CDs that have a few big name bands, a few lesser known bands, and now with Ivans help, I know probably the others like Violent Divine are Unsigned?
Makes me really curious to know when these CDs where made.
I now thought I had gotten ahold of every CD from Quite Riot, and this song on the compilation isn't on any of Quite Riots CDs that I own. Anyone know if this song is on any of their CDs? If so, which one? I seem to be missing it.
I think it's a homebrew. Check out the Metal Mayhem website. http://www.metalmayhem.com/ The homepage has a list of their featured albums, each with a free mp3. The free mp3s match up to the songs on the CDs you found.
I should scan the CDs so you can see it, the print looks professional on it. But atleast this explains why there isn't any other info on the CDs, and why there was no booklet.
Damn... its a bootleg... I thought I had something really rare.
