Prehaps we could play only local bands, and unsigned artists this day? To show the listeners that this is what Braingell might be like if things don't change for the better. Oh, and lots of talking encouraging listeners to phone and write to officials.

You have to have royalty-free waivers from each and every band....SoundExchange has made the claim that they can still collect for any artist whether they are a member of SE or not.

There are bands that have released stuff via the Creative Common licence, free to SHARE and play without paying them. Ya just have to find them. There is http://www.riaaradar.com/

Supposedly the US House Of Rep has a bill being introduced today to rewrite to stop the increase of royalities allowed by the CRB.. I can't find it right now at the GAO, but will keep looking for it..

The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) has extended the period when royalties will come due till June 15th mostly in part to Congressional action.

oposed Day of Silence originally scheduled for May 8th is being delayed because a more optimal day will now be scheduled.
