SLASH Talks 'Guitar Hero III'; Video Available - Oct. 27, 2007
A two-minute video interview with VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash about his participation in the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock video game can be viewed below.

Slash provided an original track for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and made an appearance in-game as a boss battle character. The legendary guitarist is not, however, easy to get to: In order to "unlock" Slash (who donned a motion-capture suit so game makers could track his every pluck), players have to face him in a one-on-one shredding duel after completing all the songs in the game.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will include explosive new content and features including a multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, grueling boss battles, a host of exclusive unlockable content and visually stunning rock venues. Expanded online multiplayer game modes will also allow axe-shredders worldwide to compete head-to-head for true legendary rock status. While continuing to retain all the key features from their prior legendary performances, fresh downloadable content will be offered on multiple platforms, and players can now shred to a killer set list from many of the most popular rock songs ever recorded.

For the first time ever, Guitar Hero fans will also be able to thrash and burn with new wireless guitar controllers available for each platform, including exclusive Gibson Guitars' Les Paul model for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii home video game system from Nintendo, and PlayStation3 computer entertainment system. PlayStation2 gamers will also get to shred on a new exclusive shape, Gibson's Kramer guitar, popularized by hard rockers and known for its body design, pickups, electronics and construction for furious finger fretting.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, published by RedOctane and developed by Neversoft, is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and will be available October 29, 2007.

Turbotrash & Megadeth742

That is the biggest load of shit I've ever read!

GH has brought rock & metal to people that would have never usually listened to it in the form of a game, quite a lot of people that would never play guitar have played guitar hero and then picked up a guitar.

It's a fucking game!

And Invisible Clown - Rock on brother! That's exactly what it's about!

GH Fucking Rocks!

The whole knock on guitar hero is so stupid.

Nobody is playing guitar hero INSTEAD of learning guitar. If anything, people are getting more interested in playing guitar because of guitar hero.

It's a game, it's fun to play with your friends (although I'm sure most of you elitist assholes don't have any friends, since I can't imagine anyone enjoying being around people who have something negative to say about everything) and at parties, and it actually can really help your rhythm.

It's a fucking video game, if you don't like, it play it. I know plenty of great musicians who like guitar hero.

why do people bash GH saying "learn how to play a real guitar" and all that other shit? thats like why bother playing pro evo, why not play real football? why play call of duty, why not just join the army? its only a fucking game, and a great game at that

Stop knocking guitar hero, It's FUN! Fuck, I've got two younger kids I know that are picking up guitar just because of that game. And it introduces people to a lot of music that isn't really as popular anymore. If anything, Guitar Hero has inspired more people to play as opposed to not. Most of the member of the band I'm in love the fucking game, and we still practice 6-10 hours a week together. Get off your high horse and just enjoy something.

The Guitar Hero haters kill me.

Has anyone ever heard someone say "Guitar Hero made me a killer player?" NO, BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING VIDEO GAME!!!!

Now I realize most of the hate comes from the kiddies, and its to be expected, when you're young you think you know everything and really know nothing. But you older players who talk this shit are just bitter, get a band or get a console system, just STFU!

"Guitar Hero" is simply a gateway towards actually playing/mastering the instrument afterwards. Sometimes a visual concept is the best way to go in being able to master an instrument.

The critics are making mountains out of molehills. Justifiable arguments nonetheless but at times overexaggerated.

GH is fun. playing guitar is fun. some songs are actually easier to play on a real guitar, than on GH on expert. GH is also a great way to drill every single note of a song into your brain until it becomes much easier to play on a real guitar, because you can hear it in your head even when you dont want to. and you lose sleep over it. so you play it on a real guitar in the middle of the night cause you cant sleep. thus making you a better player of real guitars...
