TWIGGY RAMIREZ Rejoins MARILYN MANSON - Jan. 9, 2008
Bassist Twiggy Ramirez (real name: Jeordie White) has rejoined MARILYN MANSON for the group's upcoming North American tour. Joining Manson and Twiggy on stage for the U.S. leg of the "Rape of the World Tour" will be Chris Vrenna, Rob Holliday, and Ginger Fish. Tim Skold has amicably split with Manson, but future collaborations aren't being ruled out between the two.

According to a posting on Marilyn's web site, expectations for the upcoming tour are best described by quoting one of Manson's most infamous lyrics, "Everyone will suffer now."

When asked in a February 2006 interview with the Des Moines Register if he ever missed the days of Twiggy, the dresses, the shock, the theatricality, White — who has spent time playing with both NINE INCH NAILS and A PERFECT CIRCLE — said, "I miss it sometimes. There's a lot of parts of my life that I like so much better now. One of the reasons I'm not in (MARILYN MANSON) anymore is that I started to feel a little ridiculous. . . . The time period I was in that band I meant it, all the theatrics onstage, all the characters, so to speak, without sounding too stupid or pretentious. The Twiggy Ramirez character was real. And then it began to start to feel like Gene Simmons or something. 'Oh, I gotta put my dress on to go play.' If I were to do that again I probably wouldn't be that same person. I wouldn't just do the KISS reunion and throw the dress on and smear my makeup and start doing a bunch of drugs."

I think it was a joke to go on as Marilyn Manson after they split with Twiggy. He wrote the songs man! Not that I am a fan of the band but I think this was necessary.

I don't think he'll be enough to salvage this dying band. There probably will be some awesome reunion shows and maybe one more mediocre, radio-friendly album, but then that's it.

Ya know, everyone has to bag on KISS as 'what not to do'. Everyone's too cool for KISS.

'Oh, I couldn't do THAT - it'd be like Gene Simmons in KISS or something if I did that.'

Yeah, and a year later you're DOING IT, ASSHOLE!

I know how most people on this board take pride in their ability to hate KISS and all it's members because somehow their merchandising or songwriting or side projects PERSONALLY offends them, but seeing a story like this I just need to point out one thing - and then every nitwit sitting vigilantly by his computer waiting for the name KISS to go by can call me whatever they want:

KISS - like them or not, have made a mark on music, culture, and society. Whether you love them or hate them, the achievements of KISS will be talked about and enjoyed - and yes, bitched about - many years after all the original members are dead and gone. KISS was a phenomenon that few bands (or entertainers) can ever equal or surpass. KISS are icons, and KISS will have legions of fans after no one who got to see them live is still breathing. Marilyn Manson is a hack who's stayed too long at the party already. And whether this Twiggy Ramirez guy is there in the band or not, these guys will never have the impact of KISS. These guys showed up long after KISS and they will be forgotten long before KISS is.

OK, there , I said it. You can all tell me I'm an asshole, or whatever, but I'd love to hear an intellegent well-thought out response on why anyone could disagree. I'm just stating the facts - I'm not saying you have to like KISS better than Manson or anything else. You don't have to like them at all, but can you deny that KISS succeeded in making themselves into something so larger than life it seems silly that this has-been guy that very few people even remember could be knocking KISS when he will quite obviously never reach the realms of success they did? It's like hearing Sebastian Bach knock Elvis!

This clip was shot in Camden, NJ on the "Antichrist" tour. I worked for the opening act, Rasputina and the guy playing trombone was the drummer for them as well. Great show. 2 songs after this one, Manson had a hissy fit and stopped the show and trashed the dressing rooms, and left the venue, for no apparent reason. And that ended that leg of the tour, but this show had a really great crowd. Glad to see Twiggy back in the fold. He's a great guy and a huge part of Manson history. Can't wait to see them again!

Everybody talking shit about the last album didn't listen to it for real.

Maybe John 5 is not on there, but the guitarist layed a sweet ass phrase of rocking solo on one of the first tracks; I'd say the first 5 tracks are really not that bad if you listen to them and you're a fan somewhat.

Can't deny that.

Everything you said is pretty much true. KISS have left a big mark on music and culture. The reason I think Jeordie said that about Gene Simmons, though, and this is just my opinion, is that he's such a money-hungry douche bag that it kind of soils the KISS legacy in a way.

There's so much unnecessary KISS merchandise, and he had that dumb show on VH1 or whatever it was. It seems to me the whole concept of KISS being a band that has great songs and puts on great shows has taken a backseat to it being a band from the '70s whose bass player is now that creepy guy who somehow screwed 4000 women.

I've never been a big fan of KISS, but I can definitely appreciate the impact they had on heavy music and their influence on a lot of the bands I like. It just seems pretty obvious that any KISS activity from the past decade has been for money and not much else.

fact: if you play with manson, you could be disposable at anytime.

Pogo was the last manson's true band member... the other guys, including jeordie white, are only employers (or something like that) of a solo artist.

Marilyn Manson (when was a band) >>>> Marilyn Manson (only solo artist).

But who am i to talk about a rich and famous guy that sock the USA? I'm only a poor employer of an I.T Company in the third world (Sepultura's country =P), that play keyboards and synthzizers in a industrial-metal local band O_o

Although I have never been a huge Manson fan, I do like Portarait Of An American Family and Antichrist Superstar. If he could ever go back to sounding somewhat like that, I would buy it. Although there were a song or two off other albums afterwards that I liked, those two albums are what I think of when I think of Manson or what I throw in when I want to listen to him.

And to a quote above, I don't really think getting Trent to produce would make much of a difference. Both bands/people are in completely different places than what they were when Anitchrist Superstar was made.

i am a big fan of kiss, i dont like what they are doing now w/ tommy and eric in makeup. i saw kiss 13 times from 96 -00 in multiple cities. i saw them in 77. i dont get offended by twiggys statement at all . i guess in a way, kiss has accomplished everything, they dont need to do anything else. they dont need to come up with anything new or reinvent themselves but at the same time, they are just a characteur ( did i spell that right ? ) of themselves. a tribute band. even if you ask eddie trunk or countless other people in the music biz or outside of it they would all say the same thing. its as if they should be playing vegas every night at 6:00 and 11:00. and the attendence figures in 04 prove that. fans have been turned off too. but look at what happens when they put out kissology, they sell like crazy. when you look at bands like the stones, rush,clapton,u2,metallica, etc. they have all accomplished everything too. but they are respected in the biz. they still put out cd's for their fans/change their set list/do small clubs tours/etc/etc, regardless of whether they sell or not . simmons has actually not cared about the fans in a long time or respected other members. could u see him trying a club tour like paul ? simmons runs this band like a business not a band. i want to see a band again. example : eric/tommy in makeup. why not drop the makeup and put out some music with eric and bruce or tommy ? because not as many people would show up at the shows or buy the disc. the people simmons is trying to attract only own a greatist hit cd. isnt that a slap in the face to you? he dosent care about u supporting him all these years. i know u will come back and say he put on the greatist show for us all these years, blah, blah, blah . i'm saying the last 7 years i've been really turned off by kiss, they are a joke now , they are not respected now, any famous musician that gives props to kiss will say the same thing. and the more gene shows up on tv the more of a idiot he makes himself look. these are the facts. simmons has ruined this band more than peter or ace playing a few notes out of key, ever could have. cant wait to see paul again on a solo tour though.

Listen to the solo stuff that TWIGGY did, he's obviously the brains behind Marylin!

As for Tim Skold, well, the dude is talented & creative, but he's just NOT what Manson needs! Marylin, when he's got the right band members, creates some interesting music. He needs Twiggy & needs to give enough money to John 5 to bring him back to the fold. Listen to the previous album & listen to his new crap: Manson needs a pink neon sign that screams: I F**KED UP NOT HAVING JOHN 5 ON THE ALBUM!!!!!

Marylin, you go the cash & you got a hot chick (although Dita Von Teese was WAY hotter); stop being a TMZ celebrity! Write some music that is catchy, heavy, & will shock people!

Face it, you followed the footsteps of Rob Zombie...it's cool, don't worry about it. Rob makes movies now & puts out half hearted music. Your movie SUCKS; stick to inovative music & you will keep your fan base.

Sorry Antichrist, but you need your FANS more than they need you!!! This is nothing more than a guy who enjoyed your music offering you a couple suggestions (no, I was never a MM fan & never saw you in concert. Think about it).

I agree with part of your point of view. Yes, they did have a huge impact on today's music. But he has become a bit of a joke in the MUSIC industry, but he's a God in the ENTERTAINMENT industry. I'm not going to sit here and say that Gene is a money grubbing asshole; he states that enough himself, publicly I might add. He has stated many times over how KISS is a corporation, and really, why shouldn't it be? They know that the fans loved the makeup stage, and that they could never top that. He would be an utter fool to try to go back and give the Unmasked era a redo, cause it wouldn't fly in today's market. So the guy's smart-he remarkets what the fans wanted-KISS in makeup. They have exhausted that, so put out products. A KISS casket was a bit ridiculous, but he knows KISS fans are NUTS and some people will buy it.

I don't think Twiggy meant it in a way to disrespect Gene, he was just stating a fact: Gene is a businessman first, an artist second, and he was just saying that he is an artist first, and if he doesn't feel it, he's not going to do it.

And to those calling Twiggy a hypocrite for going back, has he said ANYTHING about dressing the way he used to in MM? And even if he does, so what? Times change, and so do people's minds. Maybe he's "feeling it" again. Lay off, detractors.

I personally haven't been a fan since Mechanical Animals, but whatever. I think most MM fans hated that album, but I liked it.
