ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER -
Named in homage to LYNYRD SKYNYRD drummer, Artimus Pyle, the 10-track attack of ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER will introduce your ears to their
own unique brand of "heavy Southern rawk."
Artimus Pyledriver are set to release their self-titled debut tomorrow, June 6, 2006 via DRT Entertainment. An e-card previewing the entire album can be heard at this location.
"Swamp Devil", their lead single has been posted online at this location.
"This album is just the beginning of our sonic assault on southern rock and hardcore,” raves singer Dave Slocum. “This is the shit that bridges the gap between David Allen Coe and BLACK FLAG."
With this album being more Rock than Country, but following so closely behind the release of Rebel Meets Rebel, Could we be seeing the beginings of a new trend towards Country/Southern Metal?
AVENGED SEVENFOLD -
Are you an Avenged Sevenfold fan? If not, you might be... now!
Avenged Sevenfold has released a studio version of Pantera's "Walk" which you can stream from their MySpace page. It takes some serious balls to cover a band as heavy as Pantera, but Avenged Sevenfold has never shown a lack of confidence. I have a feeling fans of Avenged Sevenfold will dig the track, and it may twist a few heads of loyal Pantera fans.
Catch me on the radio and I can play you the cover of "Walk", and the single of "Swamp Devil".
