Basse recently released his new single “Break Away” featuring Dokken/Lynch Mob guitarist George Lynch and Scorpions drummer James Kottak. Produced with ANDY JOHNS (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Van Halen) the song is receiving airplay nationwide and available at iTunes and all digital retailers worldwide.
The track is the lead single from Willie Basse’s upcoming new album, “Which Side R/U On” slated for February 2011 release. Basse is best known for his role as bassist/frontman for legendary metalheads Black Sheep, who were mainstays on the Los Angeles Sunset Strip during the 80s metal explosion. The band, best known for their technical prowess and precision, has boasted members that include Slash, Paul Gilbert, James Kottak, Randy Castillo and Mitch Perry.
Black Sheep’s debut album ‘Trouble In The Streets’ turns 25 years old this November, to celebrate this milestone of ‘Classic Metal’, band founder Willie Basse is auctioning off part ownership of the album with the proceeds going to charity. The album was never issued on CD and seems to be a much sought after collector’s item that fetches as high as $57-USD for unopened vinyl on sites like eBay.
