Jim Morrison Is Pardoned For His 1969 Indecent Exposure Conviction
Florida’s Clemency Board has posthumously pardoned Jim Morrison singer of The Doors for his 40 year old conviction on indecent exposure and profanity charges. Outgoing Gov. Charlie Crist requested the pardon Thursday and the Clemency Board has unanimously granted it. Crist has expressed doubts that Jim Morrison had actually exposed himself during the March 1 1969 concert in Miami’s Dinner Key Auditorium. Morrison was in the process of appealing the conviction when he was found dead in a Paris bathtub in 1971. The Doors members have always insisted that Morrison was only teasing the crowd and he never exposed his penis.
