Interview with Steve Lynch of Autograph
There are many rock songs considered anthems, and Autograph’s “Turn Up The Radio” is one of them. Autograph had a heavy presence on MTV back when they actually played music videos, and anyone raised in that era definitely remembers them. Steve Lynch kindly lent me a few moments of his time to answer a few quick questions. Here ya go, freaks.
Q- What gear are you currently using?
A- I’m mostly recording directly onto Pro Tools, so I’m using Guitar Rig 4 and Amplitude.
Q- What has been your shittiest gig, and what has been your best show?
A- The first show with Van Halen when I was told I couldn’t use my right hand on the fingerboard, because it was “Eddie’s thing”. The best was when we did a live album at Hammerjacks in Baltimore…we rocked that night!
Q- If you could be on a TV show, which one?
A- Anything on Animal Planet…I understand them more than humans.
Q- Which deceased musician would you give your left nut to jam with?
A- That would have to be Hendrix!
Q- What are some of your favorite foods?
A- Definitely Chinese and Italian.
Q- As far as current projects, what are you most excited about?
A- Creating textural soundscapes for movies.
Q- What do you want for Christmas?
A- A new girlfriend…LOL!
Well, there ya go ladies. Go get him! It’s also good to see another survivor of the “MTV Headbanger’s Ball” days still looking and doing well. ‘Til next time…stay hard and TURN IT UP!
