Demonic Resurrection Frontman Starts Heavy Metal Cooking Show
The Demonstealer (Sahil Makhija) frontman of symphonic melodic blackened death metal (they cover a lot of ground, yes) band Demonic Resurrection, has teamed up with Srinivaas Sunderrajan, the bassist of metal band Scribe, to make a cooking show with a difference. The show, to be called Headbangers Kitchen, involves the Demonstealer cooking some of his favorite recipeswhilst inviting a different metal band to sample the food and also take part in an interview. The show starts today and the very first episode, which features an interview with Dubai’s Nervecell, can be viewed here.
“I’ve always had a passion for food and cooking and I started a recipe blog on facebook called Demonic Cookery which became quite popular. So I decided to take that to the next level by making cooking videos and I came up with the idea of merging my passion for cooking and love for heavy metal into creating a unique show like Headbanger’s Kitchen. After that I teamed up with Srinivaas who had already done the DR music video and he helped me bring this vision to life’ said Demonstealer.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that cooking has come into contact with metal. Let’s not forget Nicko McBrain’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Ribs, the less successful Judas Feast and there’s even a cook book called Hell Bent For Cooking. What makes this show that little bit more special however, is the fact that it combines cooking with metal in a much more cohesive fashion, and When Cooking and Metal Unite, (a little Demonic Resurrection pun there) you get something brilliant.
