SWITCHTENSE Releases Self-Titled Album
Since the release of 2009’s critically acclaimed debut “Confrontation of Souls”, Switchtense have been building a solid reputation as one of the most interesting and crushing acts to come out of Portugal’s uprising metal scene. Relentless touring with a wide variety of bands such as Soulfly, Devildriver, Hatesphere and Dew-Scented resulted in Switchtense gaining fans from all over Europe and helped the band to razor-sharp their technical abilities and refine their songwriting skills.
2011 now sees the release of the band’s eagerly awaited follow-up to “Confrontation…” in the form of the monstrous and devastating record that’s simply titled “Switchtense”. An exhilarating collision of vicious thrash-metal riffs with bruising hardcore rhythms, this new record is living proof that Switchtense are set to truly take things to the next level and make their mark in the world of heavy music.
A must-have for fans of Slayer, Dew-Scented, Lamb of God, Legion of the Damned and Hatesphere.
With 12 tracks in all, “Switcthtense” was recorded at Ultrasound Studios in Moita, Portugal, with producer Daniel Cardoso (Angelus Apatrida, Ava Inferi, Heavenwood, Head Control System), who also recorded the band’s debut “Confrontation of Souls”.
Dew-Scentedvocalist Leif Jensen makes a guest vocal appearance on “Legacy of Hate,” which fuses the intimidating and guttural roars of Leif and Hugo with some truly crucifying riffs and leads. Watch out for this one!
Switchtense will be releasing their self-titled album via Rastilho Records : 5/9/2011
