HEART-SET SELF-DESTRUCT Streaming “Monster”

As a part of their weekly full album listening party series AOL Music is streaming Chicago Rockers HEART-SET SELF-DESTRUCT‘s new EP “Monster” at http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds#/19. During the summer and fall of 2010 the band recorded fifteen songs for a follow-up full-length record to their previous album “Victims Like Me”. The band is now releasing an EP with some of those songs entitled “Monster”. The EP will be available tomorrow May 24th via producer Dan Malsch’s label Soundmine MusicWorks.

Since their formation during the spring of 2005, HEART-SET SELF-DESTRUCT has become a staple in the Chicago Hard Rock scene. Melodic lead vocals combined with elements of punk and metal influence the band’s heavy driven sound. After playing several successful gigs in Chicago at the Double Door, Subterranean, and the Beat Kitchen, the band headed into the studio at the end of 2006 to record their debut album “Victims Like Me” with Producer Dan Malsch (Framing Hanley, Tantric) at the Soundmine Recording Studio in East Stroudsburg, Pa.

“Victims” was released on May 12th, 2007 and would later prove to be a success for HSSD going on to independently sell over five thousand copies and landing the band several dates on the Vans Warped Tour in 2008. Since then the band has played all over the Midwest with national acts Powerman 5000, Cold, Red, Saliva, Flyleaf, Framing Hanley, Soil, Story of the Year, The Veer Union, Taproot, Flaw, The Exies, Trust Company, Janus, and Pop Evil. While touring the Midwest regionally, the band was still able to maintain a presence in Chicago playing to packed houses with regular appearances at the Cubby Bear, Metro, House of Blues and the Beat Kitchen.

Their new full length record “Of Nightmares” will be released later this year on Soundmine MusicWorks. With a massive buzz following their recent success, HEART-SET-SELF-DESTRUCT looks to bring their intense energy driven show to world.

Soundmine MusicWorks is the brainchild of industry veteran Dan Malsch who aside from being a well known producer and mixer has collaborated with many talented artists, musicians, and producers at his studio in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  The list includes Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Three Doors Down, Korn), Steve Lyon (The Cure, Depeche Mode, Ramon), Joe West (Cash Money Millionaires, Dream), Shep Goodman (LFO, Bayside, Mandy Moore), Daniel Wise (Scissor Sisters, Secret Machines), and Brett Hestla.

With a current roster of 7 of the top up and coming artists from the Midwest & North Eastern United States, Soundmine MusicWorks is primed to quickly emerge as one of the nation’s top independent Record labels.  Bands such as UK/USA based “The Killing Floor”, Chicago area “HEART-SET SELF-DESTRUCT, and Pennsylvania’s “Hierosonic” are all seen by the industry as some of the cream of the crop.  It was the solid reputation of Dan Malsch and his production team that have attracted these and many other bands to be a part of the special environment created at SMW.  2011 will be a busy year for the team with 7 releases on the schedule and more in the works.
