METALLICA and MOTORHEAD is Soundtrack for Film “Hesher”
I received a press release along with a video trailer this morning for a film called Hesher which was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. Now, I make it a practice to not put out there to you guys anything that’s not related to rock/metal music. I went ahead and checked out the trailer simply because it was emailed to me for a reason. I’m going on the justification of the fact that the soundtrack is pure metal with the likes of Metallica, Motorhead, and more on it. Hesher, featuring deleted scenes, outtakes, cast and crew interviews, a sketch gallery and more, will be available on September 13th for the suggested retail price of $28.98 on DVD and $29.99 on Blu-ray Disc.
The Music of Hesher:
-The Shortest Straw: Metallica
-Fight Fire with Fire: Metallica
-Rock Out: Motorhead
-A Teenager in Love: Dion & the Belmonts
-The End of Time: The Hit Crew
-Deeply: Buddy Stuart
Personally, it looks like a pretty damn good movie. It features Joseph Gorden-Levitt who used to be in the comedy series “Third Rock From the Son”. This guy seems to have done pretty good for himself but in this film he doesn’t quite look how I remembered him. He’s sportin’ some long hair, smoking his ganja out of a bubbler and what looks to be a tattoo of a stick figure blowing his brains out on his stomach (looks like a magic marker drawing to me). Natalie Portman directed and stars in it as well.
Commented Gordon-Levitt: “I loved making this movie, and I love how it turned out. It’s hilarious, but it’s not just funny, it’s smart, it’s sad, it’s hopeful, it’s heartfelt, and it fuckin’ rocks. Natalie decided to produce Spencer’s script for a reason, and by the way her character’s nothing like you’ve seen her. Devin, the protagonist, is a truly talented young actor. Rainn gave a legit no-joke badass dramatic performance. And, I’m humbled to say, METALLICA themselves liked it so much they gave us their music, they never give their stuff to movies!”
Here’s the synopsis:

Just when it seems thigs couldn’t get worse, T.J. runs into an angry upper classman named Hesher, a violent, tattooed metal head who forces his way into T.J.’s life in strange and violent ways
