Pelagic Records News
PELAGIC records will release the following two releases on September 26, 2011
LO! – Look And Behold (CD digipak)
LO! – hailing from Sydney, Australia – follow bands like Old Man Gloom on their path down the dirt-trail of sludgy, noisy hardcore – but the band finds their own distinct sideways soon. That′s why “Look and Behold” sounds surprisingly fresh, from the first feedback of opener “Hath” to the last waning cymbals of closing track “Fire at the Child Actor′s Guild”. Atmospheric electronic interludes such as the elegiac “Seraphim” or “Doth” give the listener some space to take a breath in between the assault of mighty groove-riffs and berserk drum attacks and further add to the diversity of the whole damn thing.

“a sludgy and abrasive (though delicious) stew, seasoned with all kinds of exotic time signatures and a hint of Mastodon” – Blunt Magazine “… a demanding and exciting post-core adventure somewhere between Cult of Luna, Breach and Burst. Lo!’s unremitting variations of tempo and their inventiveness is considerable and they manage to let their music flow effortlessly. it is the richness in contrast that makes Lo! different.” – Rock Hard, 8/10
“… a darkly glowing blend of sludgy, noise and hardcore. ‘Hued Tarantula’ is 8 minutes of delightful doom-tristesse” – Metal Hammer Germany 5 / 7

KUNZ is nothing less and nothing more than The Ocean Collective’s current rythm section, consisting of Louis Jucker (bass / vocals) and Luc Hess (drums). K U N Z stands for minimalist instrumentation, exuberating live-improvisations and the sheer raw energy of good old 3-minutes noise-rock songs. The band is known for experimenting with different live set-ups; playing on moving plattforms, in the middle of the room or trapped in cages.
KUNZ have just been invited by the Monniati Festival in Monniaz (CH) for a unique performance this Friday, September 2nd that will see them experiment once more with an unsual live set-up: they will play simultaneously on two different stages. The show will be broadcasted on 6 television screens on the site of the festival. The performers will communicate with each other only through audio and video monitoring.
The band hasput together a video blog presenting live footage of their past performances all around the world. “That’s only a starting point”, says drummer Luc Hess, “we still have lots of footage to cut, and we’re looking forward to filming some new stuff, especially on our upcoming tour with The Ocean throughout China!”
