AIRLINES OF TERROR (featuring members of Novembre and Fleshgod Apocalypse) have released a new track, “Disorient Express”, from their upcoming album entitled Blood Line Express due out on Rising Records.
AIRLINES OF TERROR was initially an experimental/grind/RnR band that played clubs and squats around Rome and Italy and had ties mosty with the “anarco-punk” scene. The act was formed in 2003 by guitarist and vocalist Demian Cristiani after he left Novembre in 2002. Later joining the line-up were drummer Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre) and bassist Paolo Rossi (Fleshgod Apocalypse). Unlike most extreme bands AOT had no interest in writing about the typical evil subjects that have been at the root of the genre for years. They needed to inject a dose of surrealism and irony into their writing that would compliment the aggressive extravaganza that they set out to create. Death metal lyrical approach and its stereotypes were used as tools to depict, as in a Tarantino movie, every-day life in a pulp, absurd, orgiastic and sarcastic way.
