SHARON OSBOURNE Says Sabbath in Studio with Rick Rubin; ‘Say Yes To Bill Ward’ Facebook Page Hitting a Slump
Artisan News spoke with Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, on the red carpet at last Thursday’s Grammy Week preservation event at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California.
When asked about the current situation with Black Sabbath’s original drummer, Bill Ward, she said, “You know, I don’t know. I honestly, honestly don’t know. It’s all up in the air. The one thing that is for sure is that Sabbath are in the studio with Rick Rubin and they are going on tour. That’s all I know. And Tony is doing brilliantly well.” Watch the video here.
As previously reported, Bill Ward had posted a statement revealing that he was unhappy with his current contract negotiations, and until there was a resolution, his role in the Black Sabbath reunion, album and tour, was on hold.
The remaining members of Black Sabbath countered by releasing their own declaration stating that they have opted to continue without the drummer, but that “our door was always open.”
Frustrated by the issue, Black Sabbath fans have created a Facebook page called 1,000,000 Black Sabbath fans say yes to Bill Ward. As of today, the page currently has 40,353 followers. Please make sure you head over there and click on the “Like”. It’s being said on the page that the traffic of “likes” has slowed down a bit so we need to keep this train rolling…do your part!
Black Sabbath announced their reunion, including plans for a new album and tour, on 11/11/11 at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles. Guitarist Tony Iommi’s recent diagnosis with early stage lymphoma required that the album production be moved from Los Angeles to England where the guitarist resides.
