REVOCATION Checks in From The Road
Revocation has checked in from the road while on a headlining tour with Cannabis Corpse and Ramming Speed. They contacted MetalUnderground.com for an exclusive update. Make sure to head there for all the cool pics!
Drummer Phil Dubois-Coyne had this to say:
“Hello again RevoNation! Phil here once again, burning up the highway on yet another tour. I’ve had a great time writing blogs over the last few tours, but this one is special, because it’s our first headlining tour! We have been waiting to do this for a long time, and we couldn’t be more stoked to have Cannabis Corpse, and our bff’s in Ramming Speed along with us for support. So far, it’s been a fucking blast!
“Our first show was in our hometown, Boston. We always have a great time in Boston, because there are so many old friends to catch up with over beers, some of which I haven’t seen in years!
“I love you bro. After that it was time to jump across the border for two shows in Montreal and Toronto. Canada is a perfect place to tour with Cannabis Corpse, because that entire country is severely equipped, if you know what I mean….. If you don’t, then I’m talking about weed. They have really good weed in Canada.
“It being our first headliner, there are some pretty extreme differences that we immediately noticed when compared to doing a support tour. For one, getting drunk is incredibly difficult. As a drummer I won’t even touch a beer until at least halfway through our set, so having to wait until midnight to start drinking is a real speed bump on my road to being a degenerate. You win this round body… As with most things in life however, there is a tradeoff. What we’ve lost in time for alcohol consumption, we are making up for in hot groupie action. I’ll tell yeah being the headliner makes you feel like king shit, because women are straight up throwing themselves at us. It’s fucking ridiculous. This is literally what it’s like every day.
“Right in a schoolyard in broad daylight! These groupies are wild. After two killer shows in America’s hat, we drove back down south for a show in Cleveland. The crowd in Cleveland was certainly not the biggest we’ve ever played to, but quite possibly the drunkest. I guess enough 24 oz. cans of Old English for $4 will make almost anybody fall victim to the centrifugal force of a circle pit and land them face down on the ground. Unfortunately there was no time for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this time around, but fuck that place anyway, they haven’t inducted Kiss yet.
“Next up was Chicago, which we almost didn’t get to because we blew yet another god damn tire on the highway. FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU……..
“Not only did the tire go, but the tread bent our exhaust almost all the way up, so it was venting fumes directly into the van. Now I know you can’t die of exhaust fumes in a van, because I’ve tried with a potato before, but it was still a pain in the ass to have repaired. Despite the odds we made it to Chicago about an hour before our set, blitzed the gear in, and tore the place apart. However stressful the day before was, none of us gave a shit the next morning, because we were headed to Kuma’s Corner!
“It seems like every time we’re in Chicago something prevents us from going, but this time we made it happen. I got the Absu burger, and it made my penis cry sticky tears. Fuck that place is good.
“Well, it’s time for a day off, which marks the halfway point of this mini tour. Next up is Cannabis Corpse’s home city Richmond, which should be a killer time. We still have a string of shows on our way us the East Coast, so check dates online and come party it up with us! See ya!
