DEVICE Album to Feature Duet with LZZY HALE and DAVID DRAIMAN and Guest Appearances by Geezer Butler, Tom Morello, Glenn Hughes, and More
Device, a band let by Disturbed frontman David Draiman, will soon be releasing a self-titled debut album which will be one of many guests featured on the album. One of which is Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale who will be singing a duet with Draiman on a cover of the Ozzy Osbourne/Lita Ford song “Close My Eyes Forever”. The disc is set for a release April 9. The album’s first track titled “Vilify” will hit the airwaves mid-February.
States David to Revolver:
“For years I’d wanted to re-do ‘Close My Eyes Forever’ by Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne. I always thought it was a fantastic idea and needed the right combination of elements and events and needed to have the right woman to play the role of Lita in this song, and Lzzy Hale, in my opinion, is the strongest, most distinctive voice, female voice in rock today. I think that she’s just as good as it gets.”
Lzzy states in another interview about being asked to sing:
“I’m humbled,” she said. “My brother [Halestorm drummer Arejay Hale] was freaking out because my brother and I have been huge Disturbed fans since [their 2000 debut] ‘The Sickness’ came out, you know. So this is a huge moment for him and I, like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe this is actually happening.’ Got a little fangirl for a second.”
You’ll also see other special guests on the new Divine disc including Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows, System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler and ex-Deep Purple bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes.
