“We are pleased to announce our second USA tour to date with the thrash-knights of the Teutonic Order, Destruction! It’s been a long time and we’ve taken many wounds on the way, but the war machine is still rolling, and still destroying all in its path. See you out on the road and prepare for a broken neck.

OBITUARY BIO:

One of the most influential, revered and best-selling death metal bands of all time, OBITUARY formed in the swamplands of South Florida in 1986 after switching their name from Xecutioner.  the band signed to Roadracer Records, a now defunct division of Roadrunner, for the recording of their debut album, the immense and immeasurably heavy Slowly We Rot (1989). The album was engineered by the legendary Scott Burns at Morrisound Studio, which would come to be the most sought after facility for production of albums during the rise of death metal in the 1990s. Unlike much death metal preceding it, the album had a sludgy feel and integrated devastatingly slow passages along with obliterating overtures that reached far beyond any point of mayhem that metal had yet to reach. The result was a carnal pleasure for doom, death and thrash fans alike coupling the adrenaline of a speedball with the slow, degrading measures of a sewer at dusk. OBITUARY were unlike anything anyone had heard before and would change the shape of heavy music forever.

OBITUARY followed up Slowly We Rot with Cause of Death (1990), perhaps the band’s most hailed album and an even more chaotic, bass heavy mix of the band’s signature groove, manic guitar solos and crashing drums. The album’s defining feature, however, was vocalist John Tardy’s disarmingly horrific, gargling style, that created guttural chasms of dread which, though often mimicked, have been achieved by no one else. Drastically shifting tempos and Tardy’s unique vocal style became the band’s trademark, which clearly distinguished them from the rest of the burgeoning US death metal scene.

OBITUARY spent the next two decades releasing some of the finest death metal ever put to tape with classics like The End Complete (1992), World Demise (1994), and Frozen in Time (2005) solidifying them as one of the genre’s most important bands of all time. Fast forward to 2014, when after a five year gap between albums, OBITUARY successfully crowdfunded their new album and subsequently partnered with Relapse Records for it’s release. Reinvigorated with a new lineup featuring the additions of legendary bassist Terry Butler (Death, Massacre, Six Feet Under) and lead guitarist Ken Andrews. The result was Inked In Blood (2014) which immediately took the world by storm.  The next couple years revolved around an extensive world tour schedule that took them to sold-out venues across the globe including tours with Cannibal Corpse, Carcass and Exodus and multiple mainstage festival appearances including 7000 Tons of Metal, Maryland Deathfest, Hellfest, Obscene Extreme, Full Terror Assault, Neurotic Deathfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, and the band’s own inaugural Florida Metal Fest.

To end 2016, OBITUARY released a surprise, live EP, Ten Thousand Ways to Die, featuring two brand new songs plus twelve classics and fan favorites recorded across eleven different cities during the Inked In Blood world tour. The EP left die-hard fans craving more, unbeknownst that it was just the beginning.

Now in 2017, OBITUARY return with their self-titled, 10th studio album, further cementing their legacy as one of the most important metal bands of all time! Picking up where Inked In Blood left off, OBITUARY show no signs of slowing down as they continue to reign as Kings of death metal. Recorded at their home studio in Tampa, FL, Obituary is a 10 track tour-de-force of bone-pulverising death metal that is as heavy, uncompromising and infectious as anything they’ve released in their historic, nearly 30-year career!

OBITUARY are:
John Tardy – Vocals
Trevor Peres – Guitar
Ken Andrews Jr. – Guitar
Terry Butler – Bass
Donald Tardy – Drums

To Release New Album This Year!

The rumors are true! MOONSPELL is ready to release their next album this year.
The band is currently on pre-production with John Phipps (orchestralmetal.com) at their home studios (Inferno) in Portugal and has recently posted online some pictures of videos of their daily work at the studio.
The album title will be 1755 and it’s a quite surprising twist of events and direction for the band. Versing the Great Lisbon Earthquake (1755), the band has developed a lyrical concept that looks into the death and rebirth of Lisbon and how the disaster changed Religion, Politics and Philosophy in the whole of Europe. The surprise is that the album will be fully sung in PORTUGUESE!
What was supposed to be just a 4-song bonus for the LISBOA UNDER THE SPELL DVD-BLURAY (recorded last February in Lisbon with 4000 wild fans attending, to be released in 2018) evolved into a full length album that will be produced by Tue Madsen (Antfarm Studios, DK) who worked with the band in a few previous releases (UNDER SATANAE, NIGHT ETERNAL, ALPHA NOIR/OMEGA WHITE).
In the band’s own words, Fernando (lead singer) explains:
“We fell in love with the concept and made perfect sense to sing it in our national language, Portuguese. I guess we were just waiting for the right opportunity to work on such an album. Musically it will be heavier than Extinct. It will be earthshaking but also very detailed with orchestrations and percussion as we want people to relive the Lisbon of the 18th century. Singing it in Portuguese, allowed me to find a different expression as a vocalist and my job is to be the survivor of the Earthquake, roaming the ruins and telling you all about it.”

The band will tour Latin America soon and will play several festivals in the Summer. Find all dates listed below & make sure to catch MOONSPELL live on the road:

LAMB OF GOD to Support SLAYER on 2017 Summer Tour

Beginning July 12, 2017 in Bemidji, MN

Internationally-renowned heavy rock leaders LAMB OF GOD will support headlining metal legends Slayer, along with fellow supporting death metal group Behemoth, on what is set to be this summer’s most-anticipated heavy music tour. The six-week expedition will rage across North America beginning July 12 in Bemidji, MN, winding up in Phoenix, AZ on August 20.
Slayer and LAMB OF GOD will also play Wisconsin’s Rock Fest 2017 (7/13) and Rock USA 2017 (7/15), and then meet up with Behemoth at the Chicago Open Air Festival on July 16.  Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 3; log on to www.slayer.net/tour or www.lamb-of-god.com for all purchasing details.
Kerry King of Slayer says, As metal tours go, this is the one that your fellow metal heads will be bragging about if you miss it! Not very often I get to go on tour where we are all friends to start. That being said, the potential for greatness at these events is mind blowing. I look forward to being a part of it, and hanging with old friends – bands as well as fanatical fans! Let the festivities begin!”
Randy Blythe of LAMB OF GOD says, “It’s been a while since we’ve toured with the almighty Slayer and even longer since we’ve hit the road with our friends in Behemoth – I can’t wait! This tour is gonna be the feel-good event of the summer- the gigs are gonna be like the Haight-Ashbury during the Summer of Love in ’67! Okay, so that’s complete bullsh*t, it’s gonna be absolutely nothing like that, so don’t show up with flowers in your hair looking for free hugs or anything stupid like that. It will definitely be a good f**king time though (as long as your definition of a good time means brutal, caustic, and hideously loud music) – see ya there!”
Adam “Nergal” Darskiof Behemoth adds, It is with the utmost pride we are announcing the Slayer, LAMB OF GOD and Behemoth summer tour! We are beyond excited to be joining this bill with these living legends and… our friends one more time! ABOUT SLAYER – www.slayer.net
For more than three decades, Slayer‘s onslaught has proven the band to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet, the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire toTheir membership in “The Big Four” – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – the four bands that defined the thrash/metal genre – secures their place in music history.  The two-time Grammy-winners have also accumulated an abundance of certified Gold Albums along with “Best…” awards from media outlets all over the world, including Kerrang!SPINMetal HammerRevolver, and Esquire.  Throughout Slayer‘s history, the band has never faltered in unleashing its extreme and focused sonic assault, and, unlike many of its contemporaries who commercialized their sound, Slayer has remained crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream.  Slayer‘s founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in for him since.  Paul Bostaph, who was Slayer‘s drummer from ’94 – ’01, has rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, and is back behind the kit.
In September 2015, Slayer released Repentless, the band’s 12th studio album, the first without Hanneman and first with producer Terry Date, to widespread rave reviews and the highest chart debut of the band’s career.  The band also teamed up with director BJ McDonnell for three high-concept and brutal music videos for the album’s title track, then for “You Against You,” and the most recent, “Pride in Prejudice.”  Dark Horse Comics is publishing a three-issue comic book series based on McDonnell’s original story concept for the videos and written by “Metalocalypse” director Jon Schnepp. Issue #1 was released January 25, 2017, with #2 and #3 coming in late February and late March, respectively.
ABOUT LAMB OF GOD – www.lamb-of-god.com
Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD are one of heavy music’s most successful and uncompromising bands.  When the band’s first major release, New American Gospel, was released in 2000 it was immediately touted as a classic within the genre. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God’s inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal’s faith is maintained, effectively bridging the ’90s’ insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school’s determined focus on riff construction.”
Some predicted a sophomore slump – that no band could top a debut album so strong.  They were proven wrong, with the release of 2004’s Ashes of the Wake, an album that not only exploded stateside (certified Gold by RIAA) but also saw the spread of LAMB OF GOD to all corners of the world.  The band’s first DVD, Killadelphia, followed shortly after and was certified Platinum.  Then, with Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 debut on the US Billboard Hot 200), LAMB OF GOD were honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”, which would be the first of five Grammy nominations for the band to date. Next came Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008) and then the band’s fourth album Wrath in 2009, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart, and then Resolution, which debuted at #3. Shortly after the release of Resolution, vocalist Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague, and spent 30 days in jail on a charge for which he was later acquitted (and lead to Blythe’s bestselling memoir, Dark Days, as well as the film As The Palaces Burn).  After regrouping, LAMB OF GOD lost no ground with their latest full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, the album was #3 in the US, #1 in Canada, #2 in Australia, #3 in Finland, #7 in UK, #12 in Germany and #13 in Japan, and #13 in Netherlands. “Overlord“, the first single from VII: Sturm Und Drang, achieved a new milestone for the band when it reached the Top Thirty of US Active Rock Radio Chart (Mediabase).  Most recently, late last year LAMB OF GOD paid tribute to late, longtime fan and friend Wayne Ford with the release of The Duke EP, which raised funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The EP release coincided with a charity campaign offering personal items such as Blythe’s Ashes Of The Wake Gold plaque, signed signature model guitars, handwritten lyrics and more.
Since inception and through it all, LAMB OF GOD‘s consistent and unwavering commitment to their music – and their fans – has kept them a critical and fan favorite worldwide, selling millions of albums and tickets around the world.
LAMB OF GOD is Randy Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums).
ABOUT BEHEMOTH – http://behemoth.pl
Behemoth have been carving out their claim as one of the world’s top extreme / black metal bands since their inception in 1991. That claim was solidified in 2014 with the release of the band’s tenth album, The Satanist. The record marked their triumphant return following front man Adam “Nergal” Darski’s battle with Leukemia. “‘The Satanist’ is magic. It’s dangerous. It’s adventurous, and it’s organic,” states Nergal. While instantly recognizable as the work of the Polish blackened death quartet, it takes their sound in previously unimagined and riveting directions. A writhing, densely layered, brutally violent and sinister record, it is quite unlike anything ever unleashed within the canon of heavy music. As such it demands attention, offering ever greater sonic and emotional depths with every listen. This is evident in the band’s videos for the title track, as well as “Messe Noir” and “Ben Sahar.” Nergal continues, “You may hear the title and think it’s very primitive and one-dimensional, and yes it is, but when you look beyond that it’s as primitive as it is complex and multidimensional, and that applies to everything about the record.” Behemoth‘s lineup is rounded out by Inferno (drums), Orion (bass), and Seth (guitar).
The Satanist debuted at #34 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in the United States. In their home country of Poland, the album became their second consecutive #1 debut, along with 2009’s Evangelion. Since the release of The Satanist, Behemoth have published their official biography Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors as well as Nergal’s own biography, Confessions of a Heretic: The Sacred and the Profane: Behemoth and Beyond. The books are available worldwide now.

AXEL RUDI PELL To Release “THE BALLADS V” IN APRIL

–  New ballads album “The Ballads V” out April 21st, 2017 –
– Digital single and video for “Love’s Holding On” feat. Bonnie Tyler out March 31st, 2017 –

In January 2016, just after its release, his most recent studio album “Games of Sins” entered the charts in Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic and for the first time in the UK. Now Bochum-based guitar wizard AXEL RUDI PELL has announced the arrival of his next offering: “The Ballads V” is set to hit record stores and digital platforms on 21st April 2017 via Steamhammer/SPV.In true PELL tradition, part five of his successful ballad compilation series features a smooth balance between the past six years and some brand-new songs.
For the first time ever in his almost thirty-year career as a solo artist, AXEL RUDI PELL welcomes a special guest star on one of his albums: rock legend BONNIE TYLER has recorded a stunning duet with ARP’s longtime singer Johnny Gioeli. AXEL RUDI PELL is justly proud of his new single ‘Love’s Holding On’ (street date: 31st March 2017), saying: “BONNIE  TYLER only records songs she personally likes. So I wrote this tune just for her and she really loved it. She came to the studio and we recorded it within a couple of hours. The result is amazing – another soon-to-be PELL classic in the making. If I hadn’t been a fan already, I would have turned into one instantly.”
Apart from another brand-new track called ‘On The Edge Of Our Time’, PELL has again risen to new challenges with his rocking version of the Ed Sheeran hit ‘I See Fire’ (known from the motion picture blockbuster ‘The Hobbit’), which is an interesting take on one the best ballads in recent years. It shows that even hard rockers like PELL can have a sensitive side, and quite successfully at that.
The other seven tracks on “The Ballads V” (among them a new take on Neil Young’s ‘Hey Hey My My’, a live version of the Deep Purple classic ‘Mistreated’ and a previously unreleased live recording of his own fine ballad ‘The Line’), present AXEL RUDI PELL at his best.
PELL has established himself as an outstanding rock star, having sold up to 1.5 million records worldwide. Since leaving the influential German metal outfit Steeler in 1989, he’s been out there on his own, recording and touring with some of the finest vocalists from the world of rock music: Charlie Huhn (Ted Nugent, Gary Moore, Victory, Humble Pie, Foghat), Rob Rock (Impelliteri, Driver, Joshua, Avantasia), Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen, Soul Sirkus, Talisman, Journey, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) and last but not least the mighty Johnny Gioeli, who has been working with Axel since 1997 (having been in Hardline before that, a project started by Journey guitar legend Neal Schon in 1991).
“The Ballads V” will be released on April 21st 2017 through SPV/Steamhammer as CD digipak (incl. poster), double gatefold purple vinyl, limited boxset (incl. CD digipck, powerbank, CD slim case single, sticker, photocard – Europe only), download and stream.

Frontiers Music Srl To Release New QUIET RIOT Album

“Road Rage” April 21, 2017

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of QUIET RIOT‘s anticipated new studio album entitled “Road Rage” on April 21, 2017.
Famously known as the first heavy metal band to top the pop charts, the Los Angeles quartet became a global sensation thanks to their monstrous smash hit 1983 album, “Metal Health.” The band now continues their historic journey in 2017 with founding member and drummer Frankie Banali who, on this new release is joined by veteran bassist Chuck Wright (who has been in and out of QUIET RIOT since 1982) and guitarist Alex Grossi (who has been handling his duties since 2004,) together with new vocalist Seann Nicols.
“I’m very excited about the release of ‘Road Rage’ on Frontiers Music Srl which is the first official QUIET RIOT release in eleven years.  It contains all newly written and recorded original songs. We stayed true to the great tradition and sound of QUIET RIOT while at the same time always moving musically forward”, says founding member Frankie Banali.
Frankie Banali’s history with QUIET RIOT spans over 34 years and he has the distinction of being the only member of QUIET RIOT to have recorded on every single QUIET RIOT release from 1983’s METAL HEALTH through 2017’s “Road Rage”. After nearly ten years since the loss of his friend and co-founding member and bandmate Kevin DuBrow, and with careful consideration, soul searching and with the blessings and support of Kevin DuBrow’s family, Frankie has moved forward with the band to bring the fans “Road Rage.”
Musically, “Road Rage” offers exactly what you would expect from QUIET RIOT. Arena ready hard rock with strong hooks and infectious riffs, along with maturity in the songwriting that only a band with such a history and pedigree can offer.
QUIET RIOT are back stronger than ever, in perfect METAL HEALTH with the new album, “Road Rage”! Catch them on the road this summer!

GWAR B-Q Postponed Until 2018

New Album In Progress – Heavy Touring in 2017 – First Dates Announced

Attention Human Scum!! Your Lords and Masters GWAR have been quiet lately, but do not fret, things are about to pick the fuck up!  We have good news and bad news…what do you want first? Bad news? We thought so…
It is with both great sorrow, and a twinge of self-satisfied glee (because we love to make you suffer), that we announce the following:  The GWAR B-Q has been postponed this year.  Yes we know that sucks, but we will make it up with the biggest and baddest GWAR B-Q yet when it returns in 2018.
Why is the GWAR B-Q postponed?  Well, this is the good news! The band is working on a new album and a whole new show that will blow your minds faster and harder than a meth addicted hooker blows a paycheck. Also, GWAR are about to take on the craziest year of touring in the band’s recent history, and will be destroying North America literally all year!  We are still lining up dates for the year long killing spree, but don’t worry Bohabs, GWAR will be coming to visit all of your little shithole towns, and together, we will Make America Bleed Again!  And as a little treat for all you Bohabs, GWAR can confirm their first tour dates set for April.  The Scumdogs will hit Reading, PA, Columbus, OH and will headline the Berserker Metal Fest in Detroit, MI.  Tickets for all of these shows go on sale this Friday February 10th.
Details about the new album remain sketchy, partly because the band wants to proceed with great secrecy, and partly because they have been very busy playing Pokémon GO. Suffice to say that they are working an album that will change the world as we know it, altering the consciousness of all living things. More details about the recording will be made available “when we fucking want to tell you”, says guitarist Pustulus Maximus. We wait with (mastur) bated breath!!

GWAR Live:

4/13: Reading, PA @ Reverb

4/14: Columbus, OH @ Newport Music Hall

4/15: Detroit, MI @ Berserker Fest VI @ Crofoot Ballroom

PRODUCT OF HATE Release New Single & Video

“Revolution of Destruction”

PRODUCT OF HATE has entered 2017 by releasing “Revolution of Destruction,” the fifth official video from their Napalm Records debut album, BURIED IN VIOLENCE. This thunderous slice of genuine American metal is an anthem for a new year, destined to provoke fists in the air.
Watch the new video HERE.
“We’re super excited for this video to be released! It gives audiences a real taste of what we do to make these songs come together,” said lead guitarist, Geno Rathbone. “No fancy effects, no laser light show. Just the five of us, in the pocket, doing what we do best — playing off of one another to create something pure for our fans. This video really captures that feel.”
“This is a bit different than the other videos that we’ve released,” adds frontman Adam Gilley. “Playing to each other with our gear surrounding us is very much how we normally practice and write. There’s a lot of energy.”
PRODUCT OF HATE recently wrapped 2016 with their album-closing cover version of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Perry Mason” being named one of the “Best of 2016” in SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s New Year’s Corridor of Covers.
Looking ahead, the band looks forward to hitting the road in further support of the album, with the next tour announcement expected shortly.

HALCYON WAY Begin Recording New Album!

Halcyon Way are set to begin the recording process for the follow-up release to 2014’s Billboard Charting album, Conquer.
The band will be heading to Audiohammer Studios in Orlando, Florida on January 27th to complete the drum tracking, with producer Mark Lewis (Devildriver, Death Angel, Whitechapel) at the helm.  This is the band’s first recording with new drummer Aaron Baumoel and the record should be released by Fall of 2017.
“The band is super hyped about our new material.  We wrote about 27 songs, somehow pared it down to 17, and we will choose from that group what makes the final cut.  The new songs are very heavy, very catchy, and very thrashy.  We’ve spent a lot of time on the road over the last few years and we think they’re going to go over great not only on the album but live as well.  Aaron has been killing it in preproduction and we think the fans are going to love what he brings to the table as a drummer,” said guitarist Jon Bodan.
Conquer, the band’s most successful release to date landed on the Billboard Heatseeker charts at #41 upon release, and the first single/video from the album, “Web Of Lies” spent 6 weeks in the CMJ radio Hard Music Top Ten.
The band is fresh off of a December tour of Russia with SABATON, and has also hit the road with bands such as QUEENSRYCHE, SAXON, FATES WARNING, SKID ROW, and many others, playing to fans across 4 continents.
