ENTHEOS To Release Debut Album The Infinite Nothing

Artwork and Track Listing Revealed; North American Tour Coming
Like lightning, inspiration can strike at any time. The members of ENTHEOSChaney Crabb [vocals], Malcolm Pugh [guitar], Evan Brewer [bass], and Navene Koperweis [drums]-collectively felt that surge. Longtime friends Navene, and Evan co-founded Animosity and remained in the group until its split in 2008. Evan enjoyed a stint in The Faceless, while Navene joined Animals As Leaders, and Malcolm played in A Loathing Requiem, Diskreet, and Inferi.
By late 2014, there must’ve been something magnetic in the air, because it drew these musicians back together. “All of us have gotten some great opportunities, but they didn’t necessarily pan out to be perfect,” admits Navene. “It was natural for me to call Evan. It just made sense. The amount of effort we collectively put into this makes it close to the perfect situation. This is the band none of us ever got to be in. All of us are on the same page, and we’re really tight personally. That inspires us to work all the time.”
Navene had produced Chaney’s previous band Systems, and her intense, infectious vocal style stuck with him. She rounded out the lineup, and the group hunkered down and cut its independent four-song debut EP, Primal, with Navene behind the board. They tapped into a staggering amalgam of polyrhythmic riffage, mind-numbing percussion, and eerily entrancing vocals. The drummer describes it best.”It’s a mix of different styles,” he says. “It’s got a modern death metal element, but there’s a more progressive flare. With the time we had apart, everyone was able to develop in different ways, and we have a new sound. There are those aggressive aspects of death metal and the precision, but there’s a fusion melodically. I like to call it, ‘Death fusion.'” That style instantly captivated listeners.
Already garnishing a reputation for their intense live show, and aggressive stage presence, they garnered over 10,000 “likes” on Facebook (within a month), while Primal became #1 across Bandcamp in March 2015. Artery Recordings signed the group as they went on to tour with Veil of Maya, Oceano and did festival dates with Between The Buried And Me and The Red Chord. Immediately after, they hit the studio to cut their first full-length album for the label. “It’s more in-depth,” he remarks regarding the new material. “The songs have gotten a bit longer, but you know it’s ENTHEOS.”
The group’s ethos and story remains encapsulated within their very name. “The name is an old Greek word meaning full of inspiration,” Navene leaves off. “Now and during the start of the band, everyone has been really inspired. That’s what this project is centered around-working hard and not overthinking things. We’ve found this inspiration. Because of that, we’re doing what we have to do, which is make music.”
The Infinite Nothing will be release 4/01/16 on Artery Recordings worldwide.  Pre-orders are available HERE.

DROIDS ATTACK New Album Sci-Fi Or Die Streaming In Full

February 26, 2016 will see the release of Sci-Fi or Die, the 4th full length offering from DROIDS ATTACK. The journey towards the completion of this masterpiece reads a tad like science fiction….. Sci-Fi or Die is available for pre-order physically HERE and digitally HERE.
Today the band has partnered up with The Obelisk for an exclusive full album stream of Sci-Fi or Die.  Check it out HERE.
Yesterday the band debuted their video for the song “Die Glock” courtesy of Metal Injection.  Check out the video HERE.
Madison impresario and retro arcade game fanatic Brad Van started DROIDS ATTACK back in 2000 and has been its driving force ever since. Obsessed with tone, great riffs and a cohesive vision, Van created the music that is Sci-Fi or Die after being courted by an independent label on the heels of their 2011 release, “Must Destroy.” After a few tours and some amazing opportunities, Van was determined to continue the band’s forward momentum into the next release, and began the writing process in earnest.  In a little over a year’s time, a body of work was amassed.  It was 2013.
Sci-Fi or Diewas demoed shortly thereafter with the expertise of Jon Terrones (The Suit, The Book-Burners) at his Internet chat room-famous basement studio, Chez Woo. As fate would have it, this would be DROID‘s last session with beloved long time bassist Nate Bush (Bongzilla, The Garza). Not to be deterred, the band acquired their old friend, Dennis Ponozzo (Below The Sound, Sinking Suns) to fill in, and the bass tracks were re-demoed with great success. However, after a short national tour, and a slew of regional shows Dennis could no longer make time for DROIDS, and the search for a replacement was on once again. Van, at a crossroads, needed someone solid to handle bass duties, so he set his sights on another good friend.  Local legend, Darwin Sampson, owner of one of Madison’s most well known and much respected music venues, The Frequency.
Mark Whitcomb (Things Fall Apart, Last Crack) was chosen to engineer and record Sci-Fi or Die,and in February of 2014 DROIDS ATTACK laid down the majority of the disc’s foundation at DNA Studios in Madison, Wisconsin. Immediately following the sessions, the guitars were re-recorded, vocals done and redone, heaping layers of percussion, keyboards, and obligatory sax solos added.  Songs were mixed, new studio gear was purchased, and new sonic avenues were discovered.  Songs were re-evaluated and more guitars were re-recorded before being remixed.  It was all scrutinized down to the last note before being sent off to Masterdisk to be mastered by Roger Lian (Slayer, Pantera), who mastered and remastered it a couple of times before everything… felt… right.
Brad Van’s uncompromising vision has borne a rich landscape of titanic riffs and an apocalyptic alien landscape. At long last, the CD is no longer science fiction. DROIDS ATTACK have plans to tour and support Sci-Fi or Die in 2016.
Sci-Fi or Die Track Listing:
1. Die Glocke
2. New Plague
3. Clawhammer Suicide
4. Brahma Astra
5. Mashenomak
6. Mashenomak Strikes Again

The Black Dahlia Murder announces USA tour with Fallujah and Disentomb

Will play ‘Unhallowed’ album in its entirety; TBDM and guitarist Ryan Knight amicably part ways, announce touring guitarist

After releasing their new album, Abysmal, last year to critical acclaim and headlining both part I and part II of the massive IndieMerch Tour, The Black Dahlia Murder has announced another headlining trek – this time, taking the show back to their roots! With Fallujah and Disentomb as support, the band plans to play their first full-length, Unhallowed (2003), in its entirety during the run, performing at intimate venues across the USA that haven’t seen The Black Dahlia Murder since their debut was released!

Trevor Strnad (vocals) comments: “We are very excited to unleash this absolutely crushing line-up upon you all and to play the much requested ‘Unhallowed‘ album in its entirety. The songs are sounding better than ever before, and we can’t wait for you to feast your ears on our debut album as it was meant to be heard. We will also be playing some bangers from our new album, ‘Abysmal‘, and the rest of the catalog…Come out and bring your friends!”

Brandon Ellis will join The Black Dahlia Murder on the road as the band’s touring guitarist and replacement for Ryan Knight, who amicably parted ways with the group. In regards to his departure, Ryan Knight comments: “After nearly 7 years with The Black Dahlia Murder, I feel the time has come for me to step down and focus on other aspects of my life. The decision to leave was very difficult, yet necessary I feel for me to ultimately be happy and keep moving forward. I feel very lucky to have had the best band-mates/crew (past and present) to traverse the world, guzzle beers, and bring the rock with every night…Thank you guys ♥, I’d like to give a HUGE thank you to all our fans for being so cool to me over the years, and all the hardworking people over at Metal Blade Records for their support, and general badassery. In the meantime, I’ll still be teaching guitar, working on new music, and just getting pretty domestic in general. Thanks again!”

Trevor Strnad (vocals) adds: “When Ryan first joined the band, he drove from the hospital where his first child had just been born to begin practicing and writing with us, on the eve of the recording of our ‘Deflorate‘ album. In his years with the band, he made a lot of sacrifices to be with us and uphold our insanely demanding touring and recording schedule…He always gave us 100 percent, and for that I thank him. He is an incredible musician and creative force…It was exciting to make new material with him, and his wealth of knowledge has left its stamp on the band’s music forever. I always knew that his time in the band would be limited, and it has now come time for him to go home and be with his family. Ryan, being the stand-up dude that he is, told us of his plans to leave the band more than a year ago, and with heavy hearts we began to plan for The Black Dahlia Murder‘s future. We admire that Ryan went to such lengths to make his departure as easy on the band as possible, even going as far as to help us find a talented leadsman in Brandon Ellis – who has been lending us his tremendous guitar skills on the current TBDM tour…Knight is one of my best friends and I wish him the best in everything he does. He will always have a place here in the TBDM family. I look back at our time together with nothing but gratitude.”
