DJ Setup

Follow the screens below to setup the SHOUTcast source in Winamp

Download the SHOUTcast 1.8.2 DSP, if you have not already click here

Once the download has completed, you will need to install the software. Verify that Winamp is not running before proceeding. Simply open the SHOUTcast 1.8.2 DSP software installer by double clicking on it in the location you saved it to, and follow the onscreen instructions to install.

Once you have installed the DSP, start Winamp, right click on Winamp and choose: Options - Preferences and click on the DSP/Effects subcategory under the Plug-ins tree. Please refer to the picture below:

If you see "SHOUTcast Source for Winamp v1.8.2" in the right pane, then you have correctly installed the SHOUTcast Broadcast DSP Plug-in. Click close above.

The SHOUTcast source plug-in should be visible (see below)

Click the input tab and change the input device to 'soundcard input' and make it look like the following picture. This is the tab you will use to talk on the mic.

Click 'Open Mixer' and make sure the Microphone is not muted on the 'Play Control' mixers window. Select one of the following on the 'Record Mixer' 'What You Hear', 'Stereo Mix' or 'Record Master' (depending on what sound card you have one of the choices will be on the far left of the 'Record Mixers') The Wave and the 'What You Hear', 'Stereo Mix' or 'Record Master' should be at 50%. Close the mixers windows.

Click the Encoder tab and set encoder 1 to MP3 Encoder 32kbps, 22,050kHz, Mono
like the following:

Configure Output 1

Click the Output tab and begin to configure output 1 to look like the following picture. You may need to select the Connection button to see the info below.
Put in the password you received from Jet or vBoogieMan.

Select the yellow pages button and configure like the following picture.

                    AIM:   (if you have AIM put your AIM name here)
                    ICQ:     (if you use ICQ put your ICQ number here)

Configure Output 3

Output 3 is used to do your test feed...
You do not have to setup the yellow pages portion. Only setup the connection portion like the following.

Right-click the clock on Winamp and select "Time Remaining" This will show you how much time
remains on the current song playing.

Congratulations! You have now configured the SHOUTcast DSP!
